Background: currently vaping on an ipv3 li and a matrix/ smok tct/ Atlantis 2. I have a pair of vtc 5s, a pair of Samsung 25rs and a pair of purple efest. I also have 4 rdas

I really love my ipv3 li and am very satisfied but my friend has a dimitri box mod and she hits it for less then a second and gets more clouds then I can even get on my mod... I've been looking into the dimitri and am considering buying it. I would like some feedback from you guys on which mod I should get. I want a dual 18650 box mod wired in parallel for a decent price(under 100$) ultimately I would like to be able to get huge clouds like she does(she told me she has ni80 20 gauge) and I will buy that but first I want input from you guys. If you could also explain to me what mosfet is that would be great thanks.

For that kind of money how about getting a dual battery regulated mod like the sigelei 150 or a snow wolf 200

I'd buy a 200 watt Snow Wolf if I wanted cloud and could spend $100. I have one. It's a top drawer piece of gear, and you can safely get over double the watts out of it compared to the Dimitri. The Siggie 150, also previously recommended, is another good choice. One caveat: if you really want to run that high, I'd buy some Sony VTC4s.

He said he had a IPV3 Li, so 200 watts. She's prolly using a high VG juice and your not? Or She's using a cloud addy and your not? Or she has bigger lungs, lol? Even if she is building a .1ohm coil on fresh batterys 4.2v thats only 176watts.

ok... don't hate/laugh... but, I built a home-brew mech mod with 4 LGDBB31865 batteries in parallel surrounded in Masking tape with the back of a cordless phone belt clip. It looks like a blue grenade, but the thing last for like 2 days pushing a delta II with a .5 ohm dual coil RBA inside.... I wish it was putting out just a little more on the volts... (3.5 ish..) But the cloud is enough considering what a rigged contraption it is... lol

4 batteries from laptop scrap... Free
1 junk spring loaded button... Free
scrap wire... Free
old 510 adapter ... Free
phone clip... Free
1/3 blue masking tape... Pennies...

watching Mech Mod guys put their 200 $$$ sticks away in shame... PRICELESS... 8)

For the most part, the IPV3 LI should out do that Dimitri hands down when maxed out in wattage mode. With the Dimitri box, when the switch is hit, the batteries give all they got, all or nothing, basics of how a mechanical works. Your friend being able to chuck a bigger cloud than you is, 1) her rda sound to be designed for cloud chucking. 2) The build on her rda she or whoever she has rebuild the coils has the coil tuned just for cloud chucking. 3) Her wicking is efficient enough for cloud chucking. 4) She has a lung capacity larger than yours or has practiced enough, more vapor you can pull into your lungs, and there is a technique to it, if 2 identical setups side by side are competing against the other, 2 sepperate vapers doing so, the vaper with the larger lung capacity will blow the bigger cloud.

I've seen cloud chucking contests where a person on a 0.4ohm kanthal dual coil on an old patriot clone out chucked a person using a 0.18 Nichrome coil on a TOBH Atty, both using fresh VTC3's right off full charge and charger, the guy with Patriot was a big barrel chested guy doing a six second power draw over the TOBH guy only could do a 4second power draw.

Nothing wrong with the Dimitri, it is an excellent box mod. In fact it would be a nice edition to any collection. 4.2volts, being parallel in connection, max CDR of your married battery pair in use in it is doulbe, ie the 25R = 20amp CDR, in parallel with an identical bought at the same time and mated 25R, your max CDR would be roughly 40amps as both batteries handle the amp load together. The mosfet circuit in a mech, 1) allows for higher amp draw than a button switch most box mods use can handle, and 2) if there is a potential short, by theory the mosfet should melt down before the batteries do.

Next, be safe out there. 20awg Nichrome 80 is a very hot wire to work with. No matter what your peers say, anything below 0.2 (excluding a temperature control Ni200 nickel or T1 Titanium build) is just excessive, I'd play with 22awg Kanthal A1 before I'd play around with 20awg Nichrome 80, but that is just me. I've seen Lithium and Lithium Polymer batteries meltdown for no reason at all other than a slight jarring in my days messing with RC cars.

He didn't say if the firmware was upgraded. The IPV3 Li ships with the base firmware which is 165watts, with the firmware upgrade installed, then it is 200watts. There is a special edition of the IPV3 Li that ships with the firmware upgrade pre-installed, but that is an after specific vendor model, not what Pioneer4you normally ships out.

/edit - The special edition is the IPV3 LiVR, had to search out GrimmGreen's vid on it.

He should be looking up not down imo.
Pretty much it's not the box/watt war. It's your build, RDA, Juice, or your lungs.
With a IPV3 LI I would use 24g Nichrome80 9wraps on a 3mm rod/bit/screwdriver around .3ohm's.
Upgrade your Firmware if you haven't.
Get a cloud RDA mutation X or w/e one you want.
Get High VG juice 90%+. Or just plan VG.

you and vapero should swap stories!

seriously though you have to watch the battery type that you use.

the IMR batteries are recommended for vaping.

yeah... that is why I dropped 4 in parallel... less drain on each... It was really just done for fun/WTF factor... while I was waiting for my new Asolo 200w TC to come in... It's here now... so the Blue grenade will go on the shelf as a convo item now...

If I could figure out how to get a pic posted... (not flaged) I would show ya... haha

Mine came as 200 watts, but it's not the vr version. What are some really good cloud chucking rdas? The problem I come across in my ipv3 is that the vapor is way too hot and the drip tip burns my lips before I can take the longest hit I can, and just the rda getting really hot all together
Mutation X v2/v3, Troll, Dark horse.
Look for something with massive/many air holes(cools down the vape at high watts) and also something with a wide bore delrin chuff cap(to not burn your lips off if more then 2 pulls).

$10.81-$11.30 Infinite CLT-V3 Mini Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - Black
Infinite CLT V2 Plus - Infinite - RTA’s & RDA’s
These are great cloud chasers and very affordable. I have the V2+ with a pair of claptons in it. Of the 6 RDA's I have, it's the best cloud maker. The claptons have a lot to do with it, but the atty itself is awesome. Deep juice well, TONS of air flow, lots of room for big coils. (My claptons are 1/4" ID.)
As far as the mod, I'd have to agree that you are better off with a regulated device. I've always been a mechie, but I got my first reg'd mod a couple of months ago. I have a 2x26650 parallel box that can't power that CLT like it deserves. But on my iPV4 at 80W it's almost too much. If you want to chuck clouds with the big boys, you need more watts that what a mech can safely make.
