Hi.

I've recently decided that cigarettes are bad for both my body and my wallet, but I love smoking. So I've decided to look into the E-Cigarette, and I have some questions.

Where's the best place to buy from?

What's the cheapest kind, and what's the best kind, and what's the difference between the two?

I smoke about 1 pack of regular cigarettes a day, how often can I expect to burn through cartridges?

There are plenty of suppliers on here with their own forum, you can look through there and see customer feedback and such. I would say where to buy depends on what you want. I'm not sure of the cheapest, and the best is going to be purely opinional.. cartridges last about 3-5 cigarettes on average.. so refilling them on your own will be more cost effective. It's easier than it sounds :) I have a 901 and I think it's pretty well agreed that the 901 or the 510 are the popular beginners (and beyond) model. I am about 2 weeks into this, so I'm no pro, but I've been able to quit smoking and I feel great. I love all the flavors that the juice comes in... soon you won't be able to stand the taste of cigs... I would go through the other new member's posts and see what people reccomend for the other people's needs and see how that compares to yours... GOOD LUCK : )

First, it depends on if you want an e-cig that looks like a regular cigarette or you don't really care what it looks like.

As for cartidges, it varies a lot from person to person but I would guess 2-3 carts per day. While the whole thing is still really new and exciting you could easily go through even more per day. In order to knock the cost down, you are going to want to refill your carts.

There's a lots of really good information here, just spend a couple of days perusing and you'll find answers to questions you didn't even know you had.

hey Ralucard, e-cigarettes are not a craze, they have helped me completely get off analogs and very quickly. my use of the e-cigarette is the same as a analog, except for adding e-liquid and charging batterys. and the cost is going to be up and down untill you find your "brand", and become familar with its use ( overfilling, under charging, underfilling and over charging, then there is the occasional poor quality control on equipment ) and spending a little more now will help with long term cost control later. i smoked cigarettes, and there is no fda approval for them, with 4000 known cancer causing chemicals in a BT cigarette, i think the 4 or 6 ingreadents that are not on the list of carcingens has to be slightly better for me and that i totally feel better 4 months after not smoking analogs tells me it is. i can smell, taste, breath, my clothes dont smell. i have treid several kinds of e-cigarettes and have found the dse 901, and dse 801 to be my devices of choice, but that is me, i will get others and spend more to see how other products compare, just like i did with analogs. learning when to wash the matarial in the cartridge, clean the battery and atm connections. so just any e-cigarette and a bottle of e-liquid to top off the cartridge should let you know if the e-cig craze is for you, it will come down to who you like, who has the best pitch. who has the device choices and e-liquid selection for YOUR choice. you will want a battery mod for longer e-smoke time,( i got an screwdriver ) and a some different e-liquids trying to get the one or two you like ( i use totaly wicked`s cola, cherry, marlbo ) i have used dietsmokes, vaporguys, and both the uk and usa totaly wicked web sites for my e-supplyies and have had no problems with any of them. i did an order from china for 3 2009 dse 901`s and have had no problems, and in this ecomony, any one you deal with is going to make pretty sure you are happy with your choice, and that you come back.

i`m sorry if this is not helping you, lets see...diferences between cheap and best? well do you want it to work for one month or longer? my first dse103 lasted one month and the batterys quit, the atm still works and i use it on a battery mod. my second was a dse 102 and it still works, but i dont like how small the cartridge is and how hard it is to refill, the atm is a open atm and it is easly overfilled. my third is TW`s 901 and it is still going, atm has been coke soaked a few times and is working just fine 2 1/2 months now. i got a dse 801 and the cart is very large, i can go thru 2 or three battery recharges on a single refill of the cartridge. the SD lets me vape my 901 atm all day with 3 or 4 refills a day, ( am making a 801 adapter for my SD ) i am going to try a manule battery for both 901 and 801 just to see how it works, showing you right now that this craze is just crazy with choices to make an e-cigarette (PV) workable for anyone and their way of how to use their PV (e-cigarette) to suit them.

i am here all the time,but i gotta go now....

I think I'm going to settle by getting the 901 off of MyVaporStore

but I have one last question about cartridges, how big are they? like how many refills can I get out of, say, 10mL?

Howdy Ralucard;
No one knows where you are. If you would kindly update your profile with your location, we'll know. We may be neighbors.

The 901 is a good choice. I don't own one myself, but everyone is wild about them. I have the mini's myself. (I'm just a mini sort of guy.) I don't know exactly how much juice you'll go through for refills, but make sure you get plenty so you don't run out.

Atomizers are another thing. Get spares, and don't let your atomizer supply run out, or you'll be buying them smelly ciggies again.

E-cigs are another electronic gadget that needs care & maintenance, but well worth the money & effort.

Keep reading, keep researching, and keep vaping.

Cheers;

I must say that is an awesome first PV choice IMO. On the 10ml juice question - it all depends on you and how much you end up vaping. I use my 901 like a pacifier but only go thru about 1.5 - 2.5mls a day. So only you can gauge it after some use.

Also, JD is right - you need at least a few attys just in case one goes down, which most likely will happen at some point. There are just too many things that can go wrong. They are finicky lil creatures.

Please be sure to keep us posted! And welcome to ECF! :)
