So you all are definitely a wealth of knowledge. I have settled on the fact that eventually (can't necessarily get it right now, finances) I will be getting an iTaste SVD. So far the best price I have found if from fasttech but everything I have heard is it takes FOREVER for it to arrive stateside, and then it still takes a while after arriving. I have been eyeing this and I do want it... I want it at the best deal, but what 18650 batteries are best? What charger is best? All the info I could possibly get on it would be great.

Does the Mini Protank 2 look silly on it?

Is this the best mod for the price? If its not what else is out there in roughly the same price range and why is it better?

I appreciate any help with all of this... money is tight. I have heard/read good things about the SVD and would enjoy something different when I am home. I like my eGo V V2 mega with mini pt2 when I am out and about, it works pretty good overall.

With the addition of the SVD, it would probably be downgraded to my "Work/Out of the house/On the go" device. Saving special trips where I would want to bring it with of course...

Thanks to anyone who helps out...

i'm waiting on an SVD from fasttech myself.
fasttech has a review section, that's how I ended up buying it. lots of happy customers.

buying batteries from fasttech is a gamble, if you do, purchase them separately so the svd doesn't get held up.
you don't pay less for having everything shipped in one box.

I got some ncr18650pd from ebay (chose them because of fasttech reviews) double the price of fasttech in au, but i'd imagine you could get a better deal in the states.

well i appreciate the feedback. i wish i could find a place to maybe just buy a used svd... (assuming it still works) have googled and am not at the post requirement to request access to the classifieds...

i know its kinda silly why buy used when you could get brand new... well simple, im not trying to find a broken one... im talking someone who got it, and has outgrown it... or something similar... i hope i didnt inadvertently break any rules with this but just kinda venting...

i find it very encouraging no one has said anything negative yet...

also... i read the reviews of it, like em, then watched youtube reviews, then checked the forums... seems like a superior vaping device... lol

also found lightsaber wraps for it... debating on getting a wrap after i get it... or trying to "modify" it with say superglue and lightsaber parts... hmmmm

for used or maybe other inexpensive stuff try ebay, I've seen some really good prices on there.
I'm also waiting on SVD and SID from FT
...maybe it'll all come on the same boat

:headbang:

Edit: looks like mine dbl-posted too

but I leave it, because I'm "special"

I have a SVD and a MVP1, and i have to recommend the MVP over the SVD(you can get the v2 for a good price on 101 vape i think)

Unless you don't want a boxmod, the mvp is the way to go imho. I will probably sell my SVD and stay with the MVP, a DNA20 box im building and mechs.

I would never wrap my SVD. Too beautiful for this!

I am not saying that the SVD isn't beautiful, but it aside from the 134 has the best resemblance to a lightsaber. I currently geek out and have nerdgasms about 3 things:

Some of the wild and cool Vape devices, toys, tech, etc
Star Wars
and Comics, Marvel primarily/DC Mostly the Batman and a lil of other heroes...

So taking a Mod and making it further resemble a Lightsaber... whether this is done via a wrap (looks alright not superb but a little cooler) or getting parts to make it look further like a lightsaber, or getting a "lightsaber" and removing the pieces and using superglue or a stronger adhesive to make it further resemble a lightsaber... or a combination of both... would take a cool mod and make it that much more totally amazing and awesome...

the idea came to me after seeing grimmgreen's video of him vaping off of mjolnir... the second i saw it i wanted it...

want to find as many different things that i can make look wild or get that already look wild... would probably get some of the monster can mods if they werent cartomizer... if i could use a tank id be interested in those too...

I love vaping but would really love to have PVs that look wild and amazing... lol

I had an SVD and liked it but it drained the batteries very fast. I can get double the battery life running the same device @ the same voltage on my provari as I could on the svd. I looked around and found others claiming the same so I don't believe it was just my unit. And obviously you have to take the ring off to use some ego threaded devices and even then not all would fit properly.

You can't seriously compare the SVD with another device that costs, what?, 5 times its price.

BTW My SVD works without any flaws.

ok so there have been a few comments... battery life on a fine piece of equipment doesnt necessarily bother me, just means i need to buy 3 18650 batteries and i am good to go... i also dont vape at extremely high wattages, well not yet anyways, i may start but ill just be sure to have 3 batteries, plus like i said this will be an at home device, or occasionally take it with me... i dont see myself going above 10 watts, from what ive seen/read/heard most people enjoy 10 really well... i am currently using a vv ego and tend to stay around 8 ish watts.

either way battery life doesnt really bother me... i think i would run a protank or a hypertank 5ml on it...

i am really looking forward to getting the svd and getting started... a provari is out of the question. while quitting smoking was a great benefit from this it was not the original purpose... the original purpose was to save money... going and spending 150+ on a device is out of the question... for a good while... now spending 70 on a full set up is not unreasonable...

i do appreciate what everyone has to say... now i know i will want 3 batts instead of 2... lol thanks for the heads up...

on a slightly different note i am debating on whether i want to "modify" my ego vv2 mega to resemble a mini lightsaber (either by getting a mini replica and taking it apart, or buying commercial items that can resemble and piecing it together)

i have a few different ideas for things, farther on down the line... like going and getting a mod wrapping most of it with black 550 cord, then forming say wood to resemble the business end of mjolnir with a couple of holes to allow for some venting, and attach that to the base cap of said mod, recessed slightly so that it can screw on and sit slightly in base...

or say get a mod with a angled tip on the tank and create a bow... or attach one to a cap a shield with a whole for the mouth piece to come out of the edge... or do something similar to the hammer but make the mod the handle of a sword... i have plenty of wild ideas...

i cant wait till i have the funds to venture into some of them...

first step... get an svd and make it look similar to a lightsaber via wrap or pieces...

so... the only "cons" so far to the svd are that it "seems" to drain batteries quicker than other mods, and it has certain areas that are rough, which with some careful and gentle sanding it should negate the roughness...

the mvp was suggested as the only reasonable option aside from the svd, and i had looked into the mvp prior to the svd and am not a large fan of the mvp...

so anyone have any final thoughts for me on the svd?

Haven't had to take off the beauty ring for any of my ego threaded toppers - except one, which seems to sit just wrong so the air flow is reduced.

Depending on how much you vape and what settings, two batteries may be sufficient, but that also may depend on what rating and quality batteries you have. My "kit" came with a couple of EH 2000 18650s. Never heard of them, but one will easily last me more than a day. Upgraded those to a pair of 18650 Panasonic 2900 hybrids, so with those 4 in rotation, battery life is, for me, not an issue. (I've read that using the SVD in VV mode doesn't use them up as fast, but haven't investigated that.)

Good device, well made. Glad I got it. :vapor:

I have had the SVD from FastTech for about a month now and really enjoy using it, although for practical day to day use I take my MVPs (also FT) because they are totally hassle-free, last for ages and will even charge my cellphone if needed.

The SVD is beautifully made, fairly heavy, and works perfectly for me. Battery life is only a few hours of chaining, though. It's an excellent synthesis of a mech mod and a VV/VW device. For $37 at FT (just the SVD itself), it's definitely worth trying out.
