hey guys. ive been looking into getting into a new line of cleros. id like to keep it simple, probably by buying multiples of the same tanks. probably 3 to start. im currently using some assorted eLeaf tanks. the only one worth mentioning is the iJust, which isnt bad. basically, if im going to switch lines, i want to do it before i get too stuck into eLeaf. some options ive looked at are the nautilus mini and the clear 30s. any other recomondatios?

basically, if you could only have one type of clero, what would it be? or the best cleros with universal coils. something simple and durable is a plus also. money isnt a huge issue if its worth it. also if you have any ideas for organizing, color coating or labeling them by flavour that would be cool.

oh and im using the iStick, so a flush 510 thread is basically a must. thanks for reading!

EDIT: things im looking for in a perfect clero
-medium to large capacity (2ml or bigger)
-color/style options (or colored replacement tanks/parts i could buy and swap out)
-adjustable air
-duel coil
-the shorter the better
-510 (dont really want to mess with ego adapters if i dont have to)
-removable/changeable drip tips
-something i can throw in my pocket and not worry too much about.

Hi Wafflnator :D

I have moved away from clearos and had basically become a clearo hater...well not hater per se but a strong disliker. But everyone was yammering about the Aspire Nautilus. So, I bought one and was very surprised at the quality. I build my own coils now but I do run that Nauti on an Istick and while it is not as good as my RBAs it is quite impressive for a clearomizer.

You have a few options here. Most answers will follow these two brands:

Aspire BVC (Nautilus or Not):
1: The Aspire Nautilus and Nautilus Mini coils are interchangeable. They are Bottom Vertical Coils with a non-standard wicking material. They produce very good flavor and vapor. Both have adjustable airflow if that's your thing. The Beyond Vape Silo also takes these coils.

2: The Aspire BVC series: There are many tanks in this series. The Aspire K1 is the newest, but the ET-S and Vivi Nova-S are highly rated as well within that series. All take the ASPIRE labeled BVC coils, not the NAUTILUS label BVC coils. They are cheaper than the Nautilus by far, the tanks under 10$ usually and the coils a couple dollars less than the Nautilus coils. They do not have adjustable airflow. I believe the Aspire K1 is the standout among them. Also Beyond Vape has the Silo Lite which takes these coils.

3: Worth noting that the Anyvape Peakomizer and the Anyvape Davide can also use the BVC coils.

Kanger Dual Coil:

1: The new Kanger series of Aerotanks (and MOW), Genitanks, and Protanks (Mini/Mega/Giant versions of the Aerotank, Mini version of the Protank 3) all use Kanger's bottom dual coils. There is a wide selection, but most agree that those with Airflow control are best, and the Aerotanks are supposedly full stainless steel, which the Aspire products cannot match currently (even the Nautilus and Mini have chrome plated brass in their center chimneys). You can get Airflow control valves for many of the models that don't already have airflow control. Evod 2 Glass, a very cheap clearo, can also use these.

Kanger Single Coil:

Kanger Protank 2 and Protank Mini 2 - these use the old single Kanger coils, and are still okay tanks. They can also be upgraded with airflow control valves, making them quite good for the low cost, and the coils are very cheap too (usually around 1$ each). Old EVOD's can use these coils too, I believe.

Both options are good, and provide a variety of sizes to suit your different needs while still using a single type of coil.

I hope some of that helps. You at least have some things to look into.

If I were to pick, I would use Aerotanks if Kanger coil, and Nautilus + Mini for Aspire. They are 510 and fit nicely on an iStick.

To keep track of flavors, Kanger tanks tend to have color options, but the cheapest way is to get a bag of multi-colored rubber bands to wrap around the tank by flavor.

thanks for the help guys. im still not sold on which one i want yet. im pretty picky hahah. the nautilus is good, but the lack of color options suck, and buying a couple does get a little pricy. how does the 30s stack up to it? they are like half the price and come with color options, just no air control :( . i also found the crazy aero tank turbo, and jesus that thing is insane. it would be cool to have just one of those in my collection just to show off. so maybe that one and some smaller aerotanks would be best. but again, they all look the same, which would get annoying. i guess ill try and narrow down what the "perfect" clero is in my mind and see if anyone else has some ideas.

also, what a about clone aerotanks? bad idea? sorry for being so picky ahaha thanks.

+1 for the aspire stuff, I use a few et-s clearios, very reliable, but you would need a 510 adapter for them as they are ego fitting but you can pick up three for the price of one nautilus, a pack of coils are a bit cheaper for the et-s too if that's a consideration,
On to the nautilus.... I have three, they are almost as good as my kayfun, coils are a little more expensive for a pack of five but well worth it, they have a 510 connection and perform flawlessly, if you can afford to buy some that would be my choice,
I also have an iclear30, lets just say it lives in a kitchen drawer for emergency use only

my biggest issue with the nautilus is how fargile there glass is. and i know i can get ss tanks, but jesus, when everythings said and done im looking at $40 per set even off fasttech, then the expensive coils.... i dont know. the selection between the MOW, Mini, Mega, Giant, and Turbo kangers have won me over. i just ordered a Mega to see how it goes. as for the organization, it just hit me, i can use different drip tips to tell the difference so problem solved there.

but anyways thanks for all the advice guys im curious to how the mega will work.

The best tank I have used so far is the Aspire K1, but you would have to use the adaptor with that and it only comes in clear. I put clear tape on mine and put a letter on the tape to tell me what is in it. The Aspire ET-S is ok, but I always had issues with those. I replaced the stock BDC could with BVC and it helped a little. Those come in different colors so you can tell them apart though.

That would be the protank. Protank1 and protank2. That coil was looking like the universal coil last year.
The protank3 and newer coils are bigger.

I imagine on the Aspire side there should be some compatibility between aspire tanks.
Now there are dual coils, and recently bvc coils, then there's some newfangled bpxc somethingoftheother and it's all going haywire like there's not going to be a universal coil;

Or: the other way to go for a universal coil is to use cartos and cartotanks.
I'm no fan of them, but if you're looking for a universal coil/replacement-coil-head, that is what a carto is an example of; different manufacturers make cartos which will fit other manufacturers carto tanks; the popular tanks are from ibtanked, and cartos are sold by ikenvapes, smok, and.. I forget.

I would recommend the Protank2 mini and the Protank2. These single coil tanks are very easy to rebuild and vape extremely well using cotton wicks. I have Aspire and Kanger duel coil tanks too but they don't see much use because they are near impossible to rebuild and the stock coils do not work nearly as well as the ones I make myself for the Protank2's.

This ten times over.

Anyone know anything about this one? It takes EVOD heads but I wonder if it would work fine using Protank ones? Rebuild the coils, polish up the tank, and bore out the air hole and it could be a nice little clearomizer.

Someone in the chat mentioned having one, said after he drilled out the air hole a little bit it vaped great. For 5 bucks may be worth the risk. I just hope Protank coil heads work in it, I don't really want to jack with the evods.

I can rebuild the coil to a bit higher ohm and stick it on an Ego Twist with a beauty ring.

I use a kayfun lite+ at home/office and I use a clearo for a portable setup.

Ok I have had and used quite a few but noteworthy is a Kanger Aerotank, Aspire Nautilus, and A Beyond Vape Silo Lite. I did not like the aerotank's low capacity. The nautiluses I had muted the flavor so much it was not even enjoyable. I love love love the Silo Lite with the regular aspire bvc heads. I did drill out the airflow holes as I am an airflow junkie but I think the default would be fine for normal people. Anyways the Silo has great capacity (3.5 I think) uses the multi usable bvc heads, fits an istick mini great imo and has amazing flavor. I would highly recommend this (they are $15 bucks each but shipping is a bit high)

I know I sound like a fan boy but I had almost given up on clearos and was gonna grab a kayfun 2.1 for travel. I am so glad a took a chance on it. If you are a using an istick make sure you get the 2.1 ohm aspire BVC heads as they handle the elevated voltage issue on the istick (see video for explanation)

I have both size Nautilus tanks with their BVC from Aspire and both work very well. I also use the Aspire ET/s tanks with the newest BVC for that style of tank and they are very good also. To get more airflow on the ET tanks I have drilled out one of the air inlet holes.

You will get tons of answers but you can go wrong with the Aspire line of tanks especially if you use their newest BVC in them.
