Hello everyone!
I am looking to make the switch from my 2 pack a day Marlboro Lite 100's addiction to the e-cig. I have been a member here for a while but am seriously going to try this.

Lot's of info here and I am getting slightly confused... what would be the best product/vap's for my beloved Marlboro lite 100's?

Thanks for your help and sharing your experiences. :)

Personally, I can't stand anything that reminds me of tobacco anymore, but some folks around here can and will hopefully advise you, if that is what you are thinking to re-create.

Noting that you are a fairly heavy smoker, you might be well advised to choose a PV with good battery life. I would suggest an eGo style minimum or somthing with equivalent or better battery life. You see too many folks who make a poor initial selection in that regard... I'm one. You will almost certainly find vaping preferable to your Marlboros, no matter how dear they seem to you now.

You will definitely need long life batteries and pass-through.
Ego/Riva may be a good choice. Or you can go directly to next step and get a box mod.

I have experience only with V4L juices and was trying to find something similar to tobacco. The closest one was Dunhill, but I don't like tobacco any more and prefer strawberry and wowboy flavors.

I first tried the penstyle from NJOY and it sucked. Parts kept going bad. I wanted one that vaped like a regular cig. I found Janty's Dura-C to do just that for a fairly newbie at this. Parts are warranted for 6 months also. You don't need anything that bongs you with vape since you're on lite's.
I get my ejuice from LiquidXpress.com. Good price and find it costs me, after the initial purchase of the kit, only $17.00 a month. They have what's equivalent to Marlboro and the strength would be their lowest for you. 16mg or 18? You can go to the site and email Rob with any questions you have. And there's Ethan at usa.jantyworld.com who will help with questions. The longer manual batteries are great. You can control how much of a hit you get with them and they last longer.
One crucial suggestion. Do NOT use the ecig and still smoke. Stop the cigs right away when you get your ecig. If you do both, you will not only increase your nicotine level need higher, but you will find yourself coughing up crap. The vape is moisture going in and more or less causing the smoke from the cigs to adhere more to your lungs. Do one or the other; not both. I found this out myself. BAD!

got both the riva and eGo, they're good (battery life), but a bit bulky. You can’t go wrong with a standard 510. plenty of "smoke"-like vapour. the standard 510 is smaller, sleeker and easy to carry around..

Smoking and vaping could be bad, i still do it, and haven't noticed any coughing problems. been vaping for 2-3 months, in which time i've smoked 2-3 packs..

Thanks for the info, I will go check out the eGo now.
Any suggestions for the liquid for ML100's? I want to start there and initially go down on the nic.

I smoked 2-1/2 pks day of Basic Ultra Lights for a long time. Got a 24mg & 18mg to start out with. Quickly discovered 24mg was too much. Switched to the 18mg which was good, but am now quickly diluting that to lower levels. Don't know if that helps, but hope so. I was clueless about it starting out too. LUV my Ego & Ego Mega xl.

From what I know about standard 510 and about smoking 2 packs a day, this advice will lead him to carry 4-6 batteries of standard 510 in his pocket.
(2 packs per day = about 2.5 cigs per hour - how long standard 510 would last?)

2 PAD smoker doesn't really have choice of "analog look" batteries.
Probably he would need at least 2 full Ego's per day.
In same situation he can get Box Mod for 30 bucks and keep buying batteries for $6 each (plus caring 1-2 "aaa look' batteries is easy)

All here IMO, of course.

It's hard to tell a newb that they should spend $100+ on a bat even when you know that's what they will end up doing. There are quite a few good battery mod's on the market, and $100.00 doesn't even add up to two cartons of cigs anymore. Battery life is the biggest drawback on the standard E-cig, so starting out high end isn't bad info.

Carton's here are $85 so it would be a week's worth of cigs to start this. I hear you on the battery thing. I think that is the most repeated message I have heard so far. I am willing to spend on the battery. Can you recommend a name or product that I could look for that will provide the longer charge? thanks for your help,

My tornado (same as ego) is great with battery life. I have 2 batteries and never run out of charge.
I first bought a 2 piece set from Red Dragon and they have been very good at customer service.
After a few weeks I realized I needed something I could refill.
if my speeling is bad is becaus jack on my pic is helping me tyoe.
Stop it Jack!!!

Anyway gotta go - Jack just knocked some of the cd's off my desk and is apparently he is feeling neglected and needs attention.

Look into a Kr808 with a cartomizer and a pcc charger. This will give you the look of a real cig and longer battery life than a 510. This is the only way you will get longer battery life and still get the look of a real cig. I haven't tried one yet, but have heard good things about the kr808. check out MyVaporStore | Quality Electronic Cigarettes and Premium eLiquids and you can get a mega starter kit, a pcc, and 10- 15 additional blank cartomizers( they come in packs of 5) and 3 10ml bottles of juice for less than $100. This would last you about 2-3 weeks. I would recommend the manual battery kit because they give you more control and tend to last longer. Auto batteries are not protected and if juice leaks into them they will die.

Lots to think about. I like the cig looking ones and have been looking at the kits to start off with. Thanks to everyone for giving me info, it gives me a lot of great advice to get started.

:)

By "the cig looking ones," I'm assuming you mean the super minis, like the L88B, AKA: Blu/Volcano. If that's the case, DO NOT get one of those. I can't stress that enough. To me, there is nothing wrong with the product at all. You just have to mess with it a bit to get it to work ideally, and as a two pack a day smoker, you'll be swapping batteries in and out of the pack like a madman. I can't give you a recommendation on what you SHOULD get. Just don't get a Blu/Volcano/Sidesho/whatever other brand name they've been given. You will definitely be disappointed. I have a blu/volcano, and it works just fine for me, but a pack of cigarettes could last me anywhere between 2 days and an entire week.

I'm was a much lighter smoker than many (about 10 cigs per day) and started with 8mg/ml liquid -- it was not enough nicotine for me. Then I tried 16mg/ml -- too much. 12mg/ml -- just right. It is nine months later now and I'm diluting down to about 9.5mg/ml and it's perfect, I suspect I will be back down to 8mg/ml in about six months, and who knows after that? I may someday get down to zero nicotine.
