I'm looking into starting making my own e-liquid as I'm getting into dripping and the juice consumption is killer  I've brought some vegetable glycerin from a local boots. For the other things needed I'm looking at Flavour Art concentrates, propylene glycol from amazon and either 50mg or 72mg nicotine from bluestar e-liquid. I'll post the links below, anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Preferably UK based.

500ml MPG Propylene glycol USP/EP 99+% Pharma grade better then food grade: Amazon.co.uk: Garden & Outdoors

Nicotine USP Grade - Blue Star E Liquid Bulk & Wholesale

I'm also looking to make fairly VG heavy juice, around 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG. Just because I prefer the less of a throat hit. Also 6mg juice strength. Using the steam engine calculator, 36mg will be using a very low amount of PG, so I'd prefer either 50mg or 72mg just to make measuring easier.

I use 100mg nicotine. It is high and you have to be very careful with it, but I follow the safety guidelines. I purchased my nicotine directly from Wizard Labs by driving to their facility and meeting with them when I started DIY. John, the owner, explained that with the 100mg nicotine I would actually be using very little of the nicotine solution (PG solution) which would allow me more "room" in my mixture to work with. Like you, I prefer a higher VG content. I generally make my juices at 20PG/80VG.

As you probably know, it is important to keep your nicotine in a safe storage location and use safety precautions when working with it.

Good luck and enjoy. Making your own juice can be very rewarding!

The PG looks good. I think 72mg/ml is the strongest nic solution you can get in the UK? VG based nic solution is a bit of a pain to work with (for me) since it's so thick. PG based is much easier. Not quite as thin as water but close and at 72mg it won't add as much PG to your final mix. I don't know about the flavorings but I think you can order direct from Flavour Art in Italy if you can't find anyone local-ish.

Yeah, 100mg isn't allowed to be sold or imported in the UK. Is Flavour Art based in Italy or the UK?
