So I'm looking for a new device. A REO is slightly out of my range for now and I'm very comfortable with variable APVs, so I have been strongly considering a P4U ipv2. Had a chance to play with one at my favorite B&M and it seemed to perform well.
Anyone have any experience with these and have an opinion to share? I'd be most grateful.

I just got the upgraded ipv1 yesterday :). Very nice! They improved the door, put in hex bolts, changed the touch sensor and improved the 510. Just make sure you buy the upgraded one and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Thank you!
The one I'm looking at is the ipv2 50w.
I understand that the ipv3 is out, or on its way - 150w.
That much power seems excessive to me, as well as more expensive.

I played with one at the vape store yesterday - it was the manager's personal one. He didn't like the little screws that held the door on so he took them off and made it a magnetic door. It was nice and vaped nice too. He had the coil built at like 2.5 ohms, so I liked that it wasn't super hot like all these sub ohm builds. He had a kayfun on it. Sounds like you'll need the one roxy got to avoid the small issues he was talking about :) Out of my price point at the moment, but I liked it for the most part.

Oh, the ipv2 now has all the same upgrades :)

I debated between the ipv1 and ipv2. But I don't even hit 30w most of the time :). I'm in the group buy for the Sigelei 100w but more due to the price and having 2 batteries than due to needing the power. Iguess that one will get the Doge rda keepsmilin' bought me, lol! My one nod to cloud chasing :D

The ipv3, which hasn't been released yet, is dual battery. That would be the only reason I'd consider a higher wattage box, too - for the extra battery life. Even 50w seems like more than I think I'll use, but the ipv2 with the alpha-numeric soup chip appeals to me. Also, the relative price of the device.
Same question remains, though: is this a well built and reliable box? Really can't afford to make an expensive purchase mistake.
Also, would like to find an inexpensive, smallish, well built and reliable mech, if anyone has suggestions.

Reliability is the key but, I would imagine that box with a Magma or Odin would be a hell of a vape.

Really not a clone guy but, since it is somewhat of a unicorn right now, I recently purchased a Stingray X clone from Vaping Tech to play with and I have to say it kicks some major azz. Nice and compact in 18650 as well....;)

Edit: DOH! Typed fat finger in the wrong box!

Do you actually use the copper ring? I took mine off and it runs great, plus I don't have to worry about aligning holes every time I open.

EDIT: to stay on OP topic: I'd recommend upgrading to a Magma before worrying about box mods unless it's under 20 w. I run 30w and most of the time it's below 25 when vaping.

I leave it on. I placed an o-ring at the bottom of threads and slid the ring over it and now its snug. It will still move a little but it takes some pressure.

Who made your Stingray clone?

I got the Infinite. I also have a copper and SS Stingray and the X has the best button by far

Little tip.....A Kayfun tank O ring between the AFC ring and the top cap helps to keep it in place when removing the cap. You can see it in the flick.....It also serves to line up the logo as well.
