Taunting me with this motorcycle talk, been looking at this...

Now that is one sweet looking Wide Glide (I think). You really do need one, you deserve it, you owe it to yourself.
I have a 1995 Low Rider (fxdl), so with a little care you could still be riding it in 20 years....:)

Getting away from bikes and priuses for the nonce, things may have changed.
So,
My choices may have expanded to include a Reo mini. So, a Reo, or a regulated mod? Still strongly attracted to the ipv2, or ipv3.
Here's the thing:
I have no experience with mechs at all. Regulated devices I understand how to use and control. Mechs, not so much.
I will be tanking it most of the time (nautilus minis, Kangers and rebuildables - just got a kayfun clone), but also dripping.
I know that this is a Reo fan forum, but I'm looking for input.
Reo, or regulated? Pros, cons, opinions and, most importantly, REASONS for those suggestions based on experience that I may not have.
Thanks to all ahead of time for your help and consideration!

Ok, I have a reo, tube mech and 4 regulated mods (mvp, istick, hana clone, and ipv1). Yes, I'm sampling different things.

If you want to drip, get the reo or a tube mech. Tube mechs can run tanks, too, but do better with subohm builds. If you get a reo, its really meant for bottom feeding drippers. There are other mech box mods that can run whatever like the Kato box or Slug.

A regulated mod will easily run tanks or other drippers that aren't bottom fed. I think regulated mods with rta's are my primary love.

There are 2 things that bother me a bit about the reo. My 510 clogs often. So its either clean it up all the time or clean everything because juice is going everywhere. The other is it uses a lot of juice. And wastes a lot due to the clogging. I don't know if mine has a bad 510 or if this is normal, but its really getting to me. To the point I'm thinking of selling it.

Mine isn't quite as impressive. My Hog is a 100th Anniversary Dyna Low Rider. I got to ride her, in all of her chrome and black Gloria, in the 100th Anniversary of HD in Milwaukee. I love her!

To be fair, a lot of people do love the Reo. Its a dripper that holds a big bottle of juice so it can get them through a work day without needing filled all the time. But, rta's like kayfuns also have good flavor and do the same using less juice and without the mess.

And for a regulated mod you don't have to subohm. Any coil between 1 and 2 ohms works just dandy because you just adjust the power til you find your sweet spot. On a mech its imperative you use the right coil to obtain the power you need. Fun for bored math geeks like me. But, regulated mods are just so easy.

If you are looking to save money, the istick is about $32 and goes to 20w. The hana clone from fasttech is quite nice. $49 for the 18650 version without an included battery. It has a usb port so you don't have to buy an external battery charger. Buy the no battery version though or it will take 3 months to get to you. Buy a battery here in the US, or wherever you live. 6 month warranty.

I'd say go for the reo.

I have and like the regulated Cloupor DNA30 I have, but I don't use it out of the house. One of those IPV's or something might be something I'd consider taking out though, because the seem a little smaller and with better features (to actually turn it off, without taking out the battery)... But I take my reo's everywhere.
The second thing is, I prefer using a RDA, instead of a tank or kayfun... It's a lot easier to build a coil, wick, and drip, than storing all the juice on top and having problems that involve taking the tank apart... With the reo, you get the dripping experience without dripping. There's a lot more... but to keep this short, everything changed, for the best, when I got a reo... If you don't like it for whatever reason, I'm sure you can get about the same you paid for it in the classifieds...
As for the 510 issue roxy mentioned... I don't have that problem.
Mech's really are just simpler and more reliable (if they are quality and you know a little bit about safety- using good batteries) IMHO. They do require maintenance, which I do monthly. For the reo you just run it under hot water, let it dry, and apply noalox/deoxit to the firing pin/batteries to improve conductivity and reduce oxidation... Hope this helps. :)

Hmmmmm, that is odd, none of my 510's on my three Reos has issues clogging. PM Rob in the Reo sub, there was a batch of sub-quality 510 connectors a while back that are giving people issues. Your might have been in that batch.
