So I stopped smoking and started vaping on November 12th. Everything's been great so far, except I'm getting really frustrated with loss of flavor.

I know vaper's tongue is a thing, but I suspected it to occur occasionally, not all the time. People mention "all day vapes" but I don't understand how anyone is able to vape any one flavor for an extended period of time, unless there's something drastically wrong with my setup.

Everything I've tried has kept its flavor for maybe a day max, and then a lot of it just goes away. I have to constantly change flavors (which means constantly cleaning and replacing BVC coil heads) to experience flavor.

For example, I got an order from Vape Wild yesterday and threw some Strawberry Cheesecake in my tank. The initial flavor was great, a nice mix of strawberries, cheesecake, and crust. Within maybe a few hours, I could no longer taste the strawberries. Then I started losing the creaminess and it was like vaping graham crackers. Currently there's barely any flavor and I might as well be vaping air. This is just over a 24 hour period.

Is this normal? How do people deal with this? If it's a problem with Aspire BVC coils, I'm not sure how these are recommended so much.

And yes I've tried the normal vaper's tongue "remedies" like brushing my teeth and smelling/drinking coffee... the only thing that works is cleaning out the tank, replacing the coil, and replacing the e-liquid. I don't want to have to do that every couple of hours.

This is normal for me either I have to change flavors frequently during the day or deal with it. The only thing that keeps its flavor for me is anise juices (taste like black licorice to me). If you want to stay with normal flavors you can also use a drip atomizer while not as convenient as having a tank filled. Most seem to like cisco atties which are usually a few bucks. You simply drip 5-6 drops and puff a bit till the flavor dies out then add more. Best part is when you go to switch flavors you can simply blow any excess out on to a paper towel and then add the new flavor. This can also be done with a rebuildable by just pulling out the cotton and replacing it with fresh new cotton.

Is this one gives 25/30 drops dripping. Not sure if suitable for everyone

Not sure about what other vapors feel. I have experienced flavor/taste reduction due to continuous vaping. Try giving a rest to tongue or change the juice.

I tried that one and it is a massive pain to use imho. Used it for maybe 3 days and put it up on the fs section here. Your better off either going with a standard 510 atomizer for dripping or going with a legit rebuildable atomizer. Of course you may find it suitable for your needs and usage to be sufficient enough.

if clearing the tank and swapping or new coils is fixing it..it's not vapor's tongue..it's a cruddy juice or something else.

I mentioned in the first post that changing the e-liquid flavor fixes it (temporarily)... I don't know how that was missed. None of the juice is "cruddy." :?:

Still no real insight on whether this is "normal" vaper's tongue, something wrong with the tank, something else...

I don't want to just blindly buy tons of new equipment, I don't have a lot of money to spare and I've already dropped a lot on vaping stuff the past couple of weeks.

I don't know that it's "normal", but it sure is common... I'm another one who keeps a whole bunch of tanks filled and ready to go with various flavors so when I lose the flavor on one I can move on to the rest. And it's just easier, if you can afford it, to have the separate tanks rather than do all the cleaning every time you want to change.

there is no such thing as normal vapors tounge. Everyone will experience it differently, for me flavor loss happens within the hour. My wife has used the same juice for the past 3 months or so and say's it still taste as good as it did when she first tried her current adv. I also have this problem with food, half way into a meal it often goes tasteless to me. She can literally eat the same thing for a week straight and enjoy every moment of it. Our bodies are all different and will react differently as well.

Since you believe its not the juice, it's either gotta be the equipment or the person. If it's the person then you can fix this by having several tanks on hand to switch back and forth on flavors all day. It will keep you from having to clean and change coils daily, however it could just be the tank style you use. I loved carto tanks when I used non rebuildable setups, my wife hated them and liked vivi nova's which I despised. Try adding 2 or 3 different tanks styles into a rotation and dedicate each one to a certain flavor. You may want to start the day with the lightest flavor and gradually move up the line to the most flavorful by the end of the day.

Some of my friends have given up on flavored liquid and strictly vape unflavored to avoid this annoyance. Some of them only use one flavor ever.

Was the coil building painful?

Painful no, I have been building for some time now and pretty much can dismantle and reassemble during a tv commercial break. I personally found that getting a nice drag from it was annoying and couldn't get the 25+ drops with out leaking. while those aren't major issue's I had other options that did what I wanted to do and kept me happier.

The flavor is by what I understand, combination of smell and taste. When it comes to your tongue, taste buds are the sensors which receive stuff and send signal to brain to 'taste' something. Different tastes work with taste buds in different region of our tongue. That is why a sugar and salt makes it impact on tongue, or you taste them in two different portions of your tongue.

Due to over work, they get tired. So you get reduced flavor. Contrasting a flavor is nothing but start using taste buds from different region of your tongue (though it could be hard to differentiate in contrast to sugar and salt). Here read this blog post about Palate Fatigue: Yes, Your Taste Buds Can Get Tired Too!

I don't really understand that since I can eat steak every day for a week and I don't stop tasting steak.

I just switched to a new e-liquid that I've never even tried before and this has no flavor either. So I'm thinking that maybe the Aspire BVC coils that everyone raves about might just be a bad product. And I can't afford a new $3 coil every hour when I have to change e-liquids.

I feel like I've put a lot of money into something that appears to be failing, so putting even more money into it isn't really an answer to me. This has been so much work and frustration over the past few days, I'm considering just trying to quit vaping entirely. Which wouldn't be a terrible thing, but I also don't want to "relapse" back into smoking cigarettes.

Taking steak is a different things. We don't take it for hours. And, all these flavors will be of more work for sensitive areas. OK. If you say you get flavor but it vanishes after a period, then check if you get a burn taste or something. I was in such situation once. Changed battery (though it was not supplying right), tank etc. But found the nicotine level was not suitable. At times, a combination of things could work against us.

So, I would suggest you to continue vaping, no matter what flavor you feel. As long as you don't crave for nicotine, it's beneficial. Going back to cigarette is worse, really. If you have craving, check for right nicotine level and make sure you take proper draws.

I believe you can get the coil head for $1 on fasttech. If not, get a tank which is rebuildable. You can save lot of money in rebuilding coils on your own. Don't give up. Initial phase troubles are hard. But not permanent. Please check the forum or start appropriate threads. I have found great deal of information here from experienced vapors.

I still don't see how vaping is special. I never got "smoker's tongue" where I stopped tasting my cigarettes. A year and a half ago I used to drink 4+ cans of coke a day and I never stopped tasting coke. I stopped tasting the strawberry flavor from the previous e-liquid I mentioned, but I could still taste the strawberries in my cereal this morning.

It's not a burnt taste. I think I experienced that a couple days ago. I took a draw and got a strong taste of burnt rubber and fuel in my mouth. It contaminated my tank and my e-liquid, had to dump the liquid and clean the hell out of my tank. Another crappy experience with Aspire coils.

Like I mentioned, after the post I switched to a new e-liquid and now I'm getting no flavor from the start. I assume it's because I'm reusing a coil head I cleaned. But no one's explained the mechanics behind how a coil can cause e-liquid to lose flavor.

I loved vaping when I first started, which is how I went from smoking 33 cigarettes a day to 0. But the experience is no longer enjoyable, in fact it's a hassle and gives me a headache. I smoked cigarettes because I enjoyed it, and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to just "continue vaping" if I hate it.

Also, isn't Fasttech the company that takes months to ship items? I've never ordered from them but I've heard a lot of complaints. Even at those prices, that's like $1.58 per hour I change a coil... on top of e-liquid and devices costs I can't afford that.

What battery you use? The battery always contributes to flavor irrespective of the tank you use.
What is your coil resistance?
Check the sheet and make sure you are in right spot. tumblr_m9dkanCt0I1qc8949o2_1280.jpg
