So I received a replacement Kanger Protank II, proceeded to wash it out and put it aside. I pick it up to put it together and realized that I washed one of the main glass seals down the drain.. Anybody know where I can find these seals????
Yeah don't have a lot of cash really to blow on that. I would prefer to make it a working piece. I'm sure there is a good source for o-rings out there somewhere. I just tried running to Ace but they were closed for the evening. Not sure if any seals I get there would be good for this or not though.
Well, I had some old endcaps laying around from a tank I had back in the day. It's useless as it has started to rust.. And the o-ring seems to fit and seal. It's stretched slightly but sits in there quite nicely.
All good man! I would still like to see if I can find the right size and a source.. That way, others will know where to go. I'm betting someone else will have this happen.
Protip: The inner seals for the glass on a Protank II are not stretch fit, they are just sitting in there and will fall out easily.
Dude that sucks to lose a seal like that, maybe try plumbing section to get a rubber seal? Possibly cut it down to size? It doesn't have to be perfectly round, just enough for entire rim of the cylinder (tank) to compress down to the end caps right?
All else fails, contact Edward at Sun Vapers. He has close ties with Kanger and reading some of the blogs, he made a lot of inputs to the Protank 1, even had them improve the latest PT1 tanks to be epoxy free! I'm sure he can help you out...
