I just spent the last 2 HRs with a magnet trying to find the 1mm ball bearing from my roller switch. I have a maintenance scheduled to clean, polish and rotate batteries in my mods. Anyway anybody else have stories of lost springs screws ect.... BTW Im Happy to say I found the bearing:banana: But I figure Id better be careful for awhile I used allot of luck finding it!

The metal pin (whatever it is called) on the bottom of a clearo head the first time disassembling one to learn how to rebuild. I had it over a table next to the couch when I pulled the pin out but it took off on me and landed in the seam under the armrest and fell in. That couch has a very deep seam. I just said forget about that one at first. Then I got my stuff for a rebuild. Turned that couch upside down and lifted the end where it fell in and started hitting it until that pin fell out.

When I took my AGA-T apart for the first time I dropped one of the screws and it was lost forever. Good thing it came with spares. I'm not sure why if it is a little piece that is necessary for the device to function once it hits the floor it seems to disappear but every bit of scrap Kanthal I drop manages to find its way into the bottom of my foot.

I have taken a few things apart only to have a Microscopic Spring wink out into a Parallel Dimension never to be seen again.

I learned the hard way to Disassemble things with Small parts Inside a Clear Plastic Bag to catch Errant Springs or Self-Propelled Ball Bearings.
Great idea Im going to use this!

old jewelers' trick, lay down a coarse cloth or a fine towel. Disassemble on top of that, small parts do not bounce.
This is just silly a real man disassembles over the sink:blink:
Not exactly,,,,,,,,,but I know, I just KNOW, I'm going to lose my 510 to 808 adapter at some point,,,,,,,,,,,no matter what I do.

I like 801 fusions and keep 2 stealth adapters at all times. I once lost one and every one was out for a few weeks before I could order a replacement. I threw away the one I had on a used cart. I even took the trash out side and dumped it out but I was never able to find it.
