Got my Russian 91% yesterday. First build was a snap and it works perfectly. There's only two things I'm not sure about.
First is my fill screw. Unless I take the o-ring off, the fill screw it doesn't sit flush. Therefor I cant flush mount the Russian to the nemesis. There's always a little gap on one side making it look crooked. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone try running it without the o-ring? It's a tight fit, it may not leak.
Second question is about the finish. I can't tell if the R91 is anodized, powder coated or painted. I'd like the finish to match my mate nemesis. I do vintage restorations and have all the tools to brush, media blast, sand and polish the finish. I'd just like to hear from anyone who's attempted to give their Russian a facelift before I do something stupid.
