I am still so new to this. I have placed two orders this week, a sample pack from Good Life Vapor (Deadly Sin, High Five, Zombie Blood and 925) and Smooth Criminal, Apple Wild Wood and Vanilla Wild Wood from Ahlusion. I tried a sample pack from Heather's, did not like, hoping steeping will help. I currently use a light tobacco with a couple of drops of cinnamon apple from local B&M which I really like.

I would love to find maybe 4 or 5 good flavors, not much on experimenting.

Question: Have you found what you thought was your forever juice and then suddenly you can't stand it anymore? Do you have one staple flavor and how much do you experiment? My budget would love to know.

Thanks!

My tastebuds have been so out of whack lately, most days my favorites aren't even sounding good. I had a flavor I absolutely loved when I quit smoking, couldn't stand it for a while, now I'm back to loving it. I have a wide variety that I cycle through normally, with only one flavor that appeals to me day after day (my ADV I guess), but unfortunately the nicotine level was too high and I had to put it aside. I re-ordered more but it has yet to ship.

What's been so difficult for me is that everyone has such vastly different preferences. What sounds/tastes incredible for one person, may not at all be for another. People have been talking a lot about Deadly Sin from Good Life Vapor lately so I hopped on their website last night to take a look and the description didn't appeal to me in the least bit. Would be nice if you could count on people's reviews to accurately fit your preferences, but then life wouldn't be as interesting if everyone had the same preferences ;). But at least my wallet would like me better...:p.

Greetings. Like your thread title. And same for me, I find my taste for juice wanders all over the place sometimes. I make my own, but even so, I keep chasing that "ultimate recipe." Every flavor burns me out after a while.

If you really want to save money and try many flavors, DIY is the way to go, if you have the inclination. Tons of info on DIY juice here, great place to start the hobby. Good luck.

Dixie,

Deadly Sin is my all-time favorite, same for my wife. Most everybody I've gotten to taste it likes it. Your list looks like some excellent choices!

I've had juices I don't like, and some that I only like at certain power levels, but if I like a juice I tend to keep liking it. However, some days I'm just not in the mood for some particular flavor. It's good to have a variety of very different flavors (I switch between bakery and fruit flavors a lot, and go to Magic Fairy (Absinthe/licorice) when my taste buds need a good kick.

I also found an el-cheapo flavor (Hangsen Juicy Peach) that I like a lot, and that helps considerably with the overall juice budget.

Unlike you, though, I really do like trying a wide variety of juices; my best advice is go with small bottles the first time you try a new juice; don't get suckered in by the discount you get for a larger bottle. If you like it, you can always order more.

Do read about "vaper's tongue" though... Even a great juice can disappoint when your taste buds are off!

I wish there was a way to find that "just right" juice for me. I've bought a lot of flavors that I enjoyed for a tank or two and then ...bleh... I'm not sure what to do with them now, especially since a lot of them are 24mg juice and I've knocked my nic down to 12. I could dilute them with a vg/pg mix, but the flavor might be too diluted. I've got a lot of flavors just sitting in Iclear 16 clearos that I should clean and I'm thinking about dumping them out into one bottle and call it What The Heck!! I could then easily dilute it with vg/pg and wouldn't care if the flavor was muted!!

Thanks twgbonehead. Just when I thought I didn't want to experiment, I have gone 'sample crazy'. I got into Alice in Vapeland on Tuesday night and ordered their sample pack. Next week (I am trying to pace myself) I am looking into ECBlend, Halo, Vaperite and Alien Vision.

So many choices, too little money.

Have ordered quite a bit of e-liquid from various vendors. I do like the option that I can choose for the PG/VG ratio that I like. Maybe that's something you should try.

I have done a lot of reading here on DIY e-liquid that I decided I'm going to give it a try. Any questions on DIY many members are here to help you.

I tapered myself down on cigarettes...took from June till Nov.1 to be cigarette free. I did order my e-liquid at 24mg and also gradually lowering my nicotine down to 12mg now.

Best of Luck to You!!!

I would love to try DIY. Three weeks into vaping. I am working on (1) getting totally off the cigs (2) doing research on the best equipment (3) trying different flavors to establish nic level and preference.

I am definitely a DIY type of gal. So I do see DIY in my future.

I just made my first DIY bottle yesterday, pretty tasty. I've got a little Mad Scientist in me, so it's was kinda fun!! magicpotion.jpg

If it's any consolation, finding a good set of juices IS the hardest part, and you will wind up buying some stuff that you just don't like.

It does get better; after a bit you will have figured out a nic level and PG/VG ratio you like, and settle on a couple of vendors you prefer, so you can focus your experimenting a little better. You also will have enough that you can let some juices steep a bit, which many really need. It's hard to do that when the first bottles show up in the mailbox, though!

Keep an eye on the Deals and Steals thread, there are some pretty good coupon codes posted there, new ones pop up almost every day. I've saved a lot of money using them to order juices I wanted to try.

Do you have any brick and mortar shops near you? I have found that the way to waste the least amount of money is to belly up to the flavor/juice bar.

As for flavors that I can vape for any length of time...

Odin by Runic vapes - a nice chocolate cream
Ultimate Cheesecake by Baked Vapes - self explanitory
Mother's Milk by Suicide Bunny - AMAZING strawberry & cream
Cr3am by Ben Johnson's Awesome Sauce - Oreo
Banilla by Epic - Vanilla Custard with Banana
Wake n Vape by Epic - Coffee with cream & sugar

Happens to me all the time. Some are great at first but after a few hours or days, you've just had enough of it. If you put it aside for a few weeks and then give it another try, you might find that you enjoy it again. It happens the other way, too. You may try a flavor that just seems so-so, but then it grows on you. Some of that can be credited to the flavor changing as it steeps, but sometimes its just the quirkiness of our taste buds.

I'm not a DIY-mixer, but when I get a juice I like in too high of a nicotine dose (maybe a friend gives me a bottle he hates, etc.) I just mix it with another pre-mixed bottle of low strength to get the right strength. Works for me. Half of 24mg + Half of 0mg = 12mg.

Thanks Kim B. for that tip - will check that out for sure.

and Thank you Still138 - I tried my local shop, was not treated very well. They didn't seem to like "beginners". I guess I had too many questions. Maybe I will try to find another shop.
Grrr! As a full-time employee at a local B&M, this makes me soooo mad!!! We're all still learning, and I always have time for every question. As they say, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. Good luck finding a better store that treats you with respect. I dunno where you are, but I'm sure that down in NC there are vape shops all over.

Schwiggiddy:

I started vaping almost a year ago, but was so discouraged due to the way I was treated, I stopped.

They suggested a "beginner" eGO kit and some "beginner" juice. The thing started leaking after 2 weeks and the juice was horrible. I went back, instead of selling me a new tank, they tried to get me to buy a new, better kit for over $100. They told me that it would take time to get used to the juice and sold me another horrible juice. Never asked me what I liked. And I was so new to all this, I just didn't know any better. Anyway, I threw everything in the trash and quit.

My local cig store started selling ecigs and juice. The lady there answered my questions, I did a little research, found this site, went back and bought another eGo and some good juice and now I am one happy lady.
