I recently dropped from 24mg nic liquids to 18mg and am finding that with a lot of liquids not only is the TH drastically reduced (somewhat expected) but the flavor seems muted as well. Using the same devices (Vamo or MVP with Kanger T3's and Pros) so that's not the issue. I was expecting less TH, but in some cases its almost non existent, and I'm having a hard time adjusting. One of the things that made the switch off analogs so easy for me WAS the strong TH of a 24mg liquid.
Has anyone else experienced similar results? Did you eventually just get used to it? Any suggestions or thoughts would be most welcome!

Somewhere out there
Yes lower nic does affect TH and I find some flavors don't seem to be as good. What I do is vape a higher nic levels for a few, my high level is 12 nic and my low is 6. You may want to find something you like at a lower 18 maybe a fruit or desert vape, then keep your favs at 24 so you can switch on off. For me tobaccos I use at 12, fruits and deserts at 6. Hope that helps! bnrk

Thanks Kopfstimmen, maybe I'll keep some 24mg around for the mornings :) I stocked up on a LOT of 18mg in preparation or the switch...in hindsight not one of my smartest moves. Should add that I usually use a 70/30 PG VG ratio, or as close as possible. I do like that throat hit!

And there you go, in addition to keeping some higher nic juice around when the 18s aren't satisfying you, you have several other options, possibly, depending on where you are getting your juices from. Some vendors allow you to request added flavor. You could also increase the PG to 80/20 so you get more flavor and TH out of the 18, though it sounds like you are well stocked up on 18 atm. Also could order the 24mg of your favorites and mix with the 18 and mix at equal ratios to get a 21 mg juice and cut down with smaller steps, and hopefully retain more of the flavor and TH.

Just some additional thoughts...

It seems like you are fairly new and so you might not want to get into it for that reason or maybe it's just a big hassle but if you DIY you can control your nic.

I started at 18mg and have weaned down to between 6 and 8 mg. I did it one mg at a time.

DIY isn't so hard once you've mastered a few basics, just like general vaping. Maybe give it a shot. There's something satisfying about making your own and it's also cheaper.

Couldn't agree more!

I agree keep some 24 around for the harder times, u can also try upping the wattage for TH. and go with a higher pg ratio. U can also take 50% of a flavor of 24nic and mix it with same amount of 18nic same flavor to give you 21 nic strength. Also depending on how long u have been Vapeing u might want to wait for a bit before going lower, take care and GL.

Well, the Flavors should not be changing much if any. Your Perception may though. Your mind is expecting X and getting Y.

Simplest way to reduce nic.
1 bottle 24Mg
1 bottle 18Mg
1 bottle Empty

Mix 50/50 for 21Mg a much easier step down. Use until adapted then take the next step to 18Mg.

You can boost your perceived TH with Kooloda - from Wizard Labs - 2 drops in a 10ml bottle of juice. It gives a cooling Kick(NOT Menthol) to liquids.

I'm down to 12mg, working with some 9 & 6mg. Keep (1) 18mg bottle around for panic/stress situations but rarely ever touch it.

If I was happily vaping 24 mg. and I wasn't smoking, I wouldn't reduce. I didn't for the first year. Especially considering your using tanks and VV- you'll probably go through 3x more e-liquid. So what's the point?

This is pretty spot on. I did this with 12 and 6 to reach a 9mg vape that was perfect. I don't have Koolada on hand, but I did increase throat hit for my fruity flavors with menthol, and I vape those at 6mg.

Edit - To the OP, make sure those 18's you stocked up on receive proper steeping time. In the meantime, you could finish off some 24's or experiment with a 21/Koolada.

personally going from 24 to 18 right now and i was finding TH on some liquids too strong for me and others very mild....I think the juice has a lot to do with it too.
for me the citrus types hit harder. I tried AIV cherry blossom (working my way through the sampler!) and it made me cough. others there is hardly any.
