LPing a Mini2.1

I decided to LP my Mini 2.1 so I took some pictures for you. I did this on my bench sander with 100 grit sand paper disk and it took all of about 5-10 minutes.

This is the sander I used

I dismantled the Mini to bare aluminum and gave a wash then plugged the 510 with a piece o gum so I don't any metal in there.

I sanded down the Mini's catch well turning the Mini to each side while sanding to ensure an even square and level result.

The final result with my BF modded Quasar dripper. I sits flush and looks and vapes great.

A lot of people have done this manually with a metal file like this

Just be careful to file straight and level.

You don't need a fancy sander, I just had one in my shop coz I love woodworking too

If there's anything I learnt from this experience and would do differently next time is that I would take most the metal off with 100 grit and then switch to a 180-200 grit to finish it off. It would make for a better finish

Sure, as the Capt points out, you don't need it, but my god, just look at that thing.

I think it's also worth mentioning here that when you intend to run dual coil drippers on a Mini that uses 18500's always use a high drain good quality battery like an AW IMR and keep your coil setup above 0.6 ohms.

Battery safety is paramount

One thing to keep in mind if you use a bench sander is that the REO will get very hot and you could melt the 510 insulator.

When I did mine I would sand a bit then dip the REO in cold water then flip the REO and sand some more.

Sand, dip, flip until you get the height you want. Doesn't take very long.
