just some random numbers... if you are using a 1.5 ohm atty, at 3.2V's you get around 6.8 watts i believe, that would be drawing about 2.1 amps.
... now regular atty of around 2.4 Ohms at 3.2 volts is about 4ish watts, and drawing at best 1.3ish amps. that is a large current difference.. So i believe at worst you are just gunna hit the max discharge rate of your battery that will greatly decrease life of charge and probably lifespan of the battery. they are protected so i dont see any risk of explosion. Im not an expert on this so i could be wrong, but i still dont think the 240's have enough punch. Hope it helps, but i think i am off topic now anyhow.
