LR Attys - How Long Should They Last?

Been vaping with LR atty from Nhaler for a little over 2 weeks now and I think it just died last night  Was working fine yesterday afternoon and then after setting it aside for a couple of hours, picked it up in the evening, got a few wisps of smoke and that was pretty much that!

What have others experienced in terms of the useful life of the LR's? Anybody have one seemingly die and then come back to life?? I initially thought maybe it needed cleaning so I tried blowing through the atty, got some fluid out but still no go. FYI, I've been using a cart mod with the LR and I know some suggest dripping is a better way to go with the LR but I'm not sure if cart useage contributed to the current problem. BTW, what exactly goes wrong with an atty when it dies? I ask in part because when I attach the (apparently) dead atty to a manual battery and hit the button I can hear that typical "crackling" sound attys make so, like, isn't that an atty that should be working??

Final comment, I've switched over to my spare LR for the moment and it's a brand new unit. I know some say there is no "break in" on these LR's but I'm using the same cart with the same liquid on this new atty and there is definitely less flavor and a stronger TH on this new one as compared to the previous LR, which was obviously "broken in". So, it will be interesting to see how flavor and TH change as I continue to use this new LR...

Check my sig.

A cart on an LR atty is not a good thing, it can keep up period. they were intended fro drippers. having said that there are a lot of factors in play. 2 weeks seems the norm for them depending on juice. High VG or sweet juices = shorter life, althgouh many will argue this. That it lasted 2 weeks with a cart you are lucky IMHO.

If the atty sizzles, it still has life, a dead atty is a dead atty, it won't sizzle = breath.

Blow it hard without the cart from the cart end, and try again. try it on a different battery, sometimes they don't seat properly. clean your thread on both atty and batt with alcohol.

Get yourself a multi-meter. LR initial resistance 1.5 Ohms, dead atty 20+ Ohms

Thanks, Switched. I'll give your suggestions a try in the morning and we'll see how it goes but based on what I'm reading on this thread and elsewhere 2 weeks is starting to seem like the "norm" for LR's - under my current useage conditions. I'd try it tonight but I'm vaping a new liquid - Johnson Creek's Tennessee Cured - and for the moment, at least, I just can't convince myself to interrupt the experience...It's a damn good vape :D

I hear ya brother I vaped some JC original and the TC is supposed to be better. On that note, several have reported poor atty performance in general with both Rath and JC liquids. Not just with the LRs, so it is something to think about. Personally I've had no probs with the JC original but that was only 3ml.

I recently popped 2 X 801s in 2 days, that's a first for me. I found the culprit though, a pure VG or near pure VG liquid. Why can I pin point it to that? Well because my other 801s which were in use prior to the two I lost are still vaping like new. The first 801 lasted 3 days, the 2nd 1 day. I started another 801 with my juices and all is well. Coincidence? You be the judge. I've discontunued the use of said juice.

I'm still using the orig. one from Drew with the 2nd from him as a spare. I also got one from Altsmoke and use that one too, but the middle pin in it tends to slide to far up and I need to pry it down to touch the middle of my eGo battery.
Well, I gave that up and now use that one on my VP2 only. Works great and has been for about 2 weeks now. The first one from Drew is going over 4 weeks with daily usage..

OK, finally got round to a final post-mortem on the LR atty! Tried everything but the multi-meter (don't have one) and no real luck. Since it was still "crackling", however, I tried listening to both a new LR and the problem LR and I noticed a much noisier crackle on the new one. Also tried dropping a little liquid in the dead/dying LR (without a cart attached) and when I hit the battery no smoke and no orange glow. Tried switching out with a freshly-charged battery and same results. So...it seems like it may still be getting some charge from the battery but not enough for sufficient ignition??

Anyway...I guess it's somewhat academic at this point; already ordered a 5-pack of LR's from Janty and they should be here in a day or so. Just thought I'd provide an update in case anyone was interested...
