Hello all, I've been a smoker since I was fifteen, switching from brand to brand but have always leaned towards Camel Crush after it was released. Switched to vaping on December 17th last year and threw out a nearly full pack, not thinking much of it after I had bought an eGo-C setup. Since then, I have not had one analog and the actual smell of tobacco smoke is becoming more noticeable to me. I'm happy I switched and now use an MVP2.

In only three months I have noticed that the e-cigarette community is like a sub-culture, a group of people with diverse interests and preferences and capacities to find what works for them and for others. I follow a few vaping channels on Youtube and while they aren't representative of everyone, they're some of the coolest people I've listened to, with advice specific to the hobby as well as their general personalities. I like the idea of switching parts around, building your own rig, testing and experimenting, developing personality and knowledge all at the same time. I've noticed that this forum has had tons of information to help me out before I joined. I've learned to appreciate patience with the practices involved in steeping and vapemail and all of those other things.

To be honest, I didn't ever really think I would be able to quit. I never believed I would be able to using a standard NRT and refused to on that matter. I understand that e-cigarettes are not and never have been cessation aids, and have never claimed to be, however, I must put a huge amount of appreciation for a simply designed invention that has helped me to breathe better, regain my energy, and change my perspective on how to live my life again.

Vape on, friends!

Welcome out of lurkdom, and congratulations on your success in ditching the cigarettes! I started a little later in life than you did, but I made up for it in how many years I smoked - over 40 years. I am so glad to be free of cigarettes, and loving this vaping adventure. Keep it up. I'm rooting for you!:)

hey pyruleus44, welcome and glad you have found ECF forum

you know I smoked over 40 years heavy and just cold turkey qwit, with vaping
just blows my mind, and I would have never thought it possible because I LIKED SMOKING ...

about 9 months along now, never a crave or even give it a thought anymore...
about 3 weeks into it I found some stashed cigs and tried one out of curiosity, YUK, never again

actually now I feel so far removed I don't think as much as to help others qwit, as much
as I think about just trying to help their vaping needs...

Vaping is a true transformation from a past life...

Good Luck to you :)

Eight years here, still did some damage though. After a solid three years of a pack a day, visiting gas station clerks for my fix and constantly panicking and stressing out and planning with nearly empty packs, along with having trouble breathing doing the simplest things like taking showers or working at my job fiending for a fix at least once an hour (sometimes twice), I figured a change had to be made. Especially since I started to feel guilty about them ringing up packs for me before I spoke, and also "rotating" between different locations to attempt avoiding that guilt.

I went through the motions of irritability and the common withdrawal symptoms associated with smoking but I had to keep reminding myself it would go away eventually. At this point, I only get an occasional cough, though I believe that's more so due to my eliquid mixture than a smoker's cough. Before, I would look at a pack with elation. Now I don't even want to open one, let alone touch it.

Thank you all.
