Hi all,

As you can see, I originally joined in April 2009. I quit analogs on 5/1/2009 (2+ pad smoker for 40+ years) and haven't looked back. I have been lurking on and off for the past 4+ years and finally decided it was time to introduce myself.

My only regret is that I didn't save all the various ecigs I have tried since I started. I could have quite a museum. Currently I am using a variety of mechanical mod clones and VV/VW devices (MP3, IStick, DNA30, etc., etc., etc.) with tanks that range from Kanger T3Ds to Aerotanks, and nautilus Minis as well as rebuildables (kayfun and Lemos).

Well, that's my short story. Hope to spend more time posting than I have in the past.

It's impressive that you quit using the old stuff. I almost gave up while using a cartridge on an atty bcause it was very frustrating but it was still much better than earlier equipment.

Thanks for the welcome Ebates, Kaezziel and r77r7r.

The old stuff was definitely a challenge. I learned early on the pleasures of dripping (on old style atomizers) and I think that helped. I actually found one the other day and used it to try a new juice. Now I don't see how I was happy using that every day. But it was the best there was and it was better than smoking.

Been there, done that! I found a couple of my old atomizers the other day too.... wow what a crappy vape that was!! Good thing I didn't know any better back in the day!

So true. We might not have made it to this point! That is the last time I will use one - I was just being too lazy to change the wick in my dripper. Next time I'll change it. There was no flavor at all. Maybe that's why I stuck to menthol juice for the first year I was vaping. It was the only thing I could taste with those atomizers!

LOL! I vaped tobacco flavors back then... maybe a little clove here and there...
I tried it, just because I found it... ran across my old MKII Screwdriver (18350) mod and an (actually unused) 901 cart... I was stoked!! LMAO!! I loaded it up with a bit of Strawberry Vanilla Swirl... might as well have been straight PG! I tasted nothing... and soooo little vapor... it made me sad. I grabbed my mech mod/tobh with a 0.23 ohm build just to feel like a real vaper again! :D

That is so funny that we had the same experience! What were we thinking back then? lol Screwdriver?? I haven't heard anyone mention one of those in ages! I never actually got one - my son said I would look too weird running around town as a grandma with that "huge" mod!! But I did find the Janty Stick that I had and it still works - not very well, but it works! Now I don't care what it looks like as long as it does the job and meets my expectations (which are very high at this point). This is really making me sad that I didn't save more of the old stuff. It would be fun to test them all out again and see how bad they were!

LOL... Funny coincidence, for sure! You think the Screwdriver is bad... I stumbled on Puck mods the other day and found the one that I made (long before I ever heard of a "Puck" mod, by the way)
It was a 4-bay AA battery box from RadioShack with a built in on/off switch... I tore apart one of my old cig-a-like batteries to steal the 510 connection... soldered the wires to the connector and glued it in place on the box with Gorilla Glue.... that thing rocked a cartomizer like nobody's business.... of course 6 volts unregulated will do that.... :D

OMG that is so funny. In the "early" years I was too afraid to try anything like that. Even now I'm not comfortable building anything but coils. It took me the longest time to even think about trying a mechanical mod. I still seem to prefer vv/vw mods but that is really because of button placement. I just find the button placement on the bottom of mechanicals to be really awkward for my small hands. But I still have a few that I use because of the build on my drippers. It's not always about what is most comfortable but about what will get you the best flavor (and clouds lol).

Yeah... the bottom button took a bit for me to get used to, as well. I also have very small hands... I like my Knight mod because it's recessed when the lock ring is unlocked... less likely to fire if I forget to lock it.
I'm an electronics tech, so building that little mod wasn't too much of a stretch for me... it worked pretty good, and I got a whole lot more life out of it than the cig-a-likes... almost a full week on a set of batteries!

Knight mod with a recessed button?? Really??? Do you happen to have a link for that? That might be interesting - I am attracted to bright shiny objects

It is pretty awesome... all the benefits of a full copper mod, without having to deal with all the tarnish and excess cleaning...
I suggest getting some high quality clear fingernail polish to seal the cut-out of the cross, though... it'll flake and chip if you don't seal it better...
