I decided to try the 201 after reading the reviews here on the forum, and I really like it (better flavor than the 510, lots of vapor, long lasting).

I'm noticing that one of the (new) attys gets a bad taste fairly quickly and that when I pull off the cartridge the juice that's visible on the fiberfill in the cartridge is a fairly dark red.

I'm not sure if this is just primer fluid and this atty had more than the other one and the primer hasn't burned out yet, if this is normal and I just haven't noticed it, or if there is a problem with this particular atty.

I'd appreciate any insights or suggestions.

Thanks,
Cheryl

I also had that happen with two flavors from the same order.
One an RY4 and the other a winston. The winston turned a dark blackish browm and the RY4 a deep orange red with a slight brown tint. Both of these were VG liquids so it may have been the heat caramalising some of the liquid when it vaporises. Any way I'm pretty sure it has something to do with a reaction to the heat.

Thanks for the info. I'm still really new to all this and trying all sorts of different flavors looking for a few favorites.

Since I've been paying attention to it, I've noticed that carts I pull out while fairly full (some flavors I just don't like) have noticable color and those that I've mostly emptied look white at a glance, but do have the color further down.

Now that I've been using the 201 for a while, I'm pretty sure it's going to stay my favorite for ease of use and most flavors. Ironically, my favorite flavor to date is RY4 on the 510 when I can get it hit just right, and it doesn't taste the same on the 201.

Cheryl,
I'Ve found the RY4 is more of a strong caramel taste in the 510 it may be the caramel flavor is accented by the hotter atty on the 510.
Since some vendors RY 4 tastes a little different from each other you may want to get some sample sizes of different ones and see if there is one you like in the 201. I'm a little partial to the one from strictly ejuice .com.
But my tastes may be different from yours.

Lacura,

I got the black one from litecigusa and then saw the pretty ones at freshsmoking and ordered those too (the girlie part of me wanted pretty). The pretty, burgundy one has a much harder draw than the black one that I got, so I'll be buying the black ones from litecigusa for any replacements (he's got better prices too).

Yes its normal for the M201 atty to stain the poly fill red when new. Every new one I have gotten did the same. Its a preservative/primer. I try to rinse new attys in vodka to remove primer before using.Otherwise after several days of use the flavor will change for the good, and red staining will go away. I personally love my 201,went thru 901's.801's e ciagrs, etc before finding the 201. Its the only e-cig I use. Had mine for over 4 months and still using the original batts, and one of the original attys.
Good luck

Lacura--the pretty, burgundy atty was making me nuts with the hard draw, so I decided I didn't have much to lose by trying to clean it. I just used hot water, blew it out and let it drain over night. While I didn't see gunk come out, it is drawing much better today.

In the interest of being fair, the pretty attys do seem to work just as well as the black ones. This is the one that was putting out a ton of the dark red stuff, so it must just have had extra of the primer stuff and been a little gunked up by it.

While I do like my M201 from litecigusa, I have found I prefer the RN4072 Penstyle I got at myPVshop.com using coupon code IVape 10 for a 10% discount. The RN4072 has an easier draw and I get better flavor from it. But I like both models much better than my 510's ... due to longer lasting batteries, larger carts and better flavor.
