Ever wanted to know what's in there? I was ripping a couple apart for the "wick" thread, thought I'd take some pics for y'all

Components of Atomizer

The coil itself (ick)

Neat part - the coil is wound around a ceramic wick, not fiber

Wow, you blow me away every time, Randy. You should start a class on ecig research.

I know nothing about the 401, how does its atty compare to a 901? That ceramic coil core is fascinating, much more elegant than eventually melted silica (or ???) fibers.

Looks like a usb microscope is a new item for my shopping list, along with a variety of commercial ecigs to broaden my knowledge. And a desk sized vice.... and.... this ashtray.... that's all I need.... [steve martin, the jerk]

901 - I don't know. The bloog/loongtotem 1 piece, and M401's are the only mini's I've ventured into. Timeouts, expensive low-cap crappy batteries, and ridiculously small carts that you have to change or fill all day drives me back to the cigars every time....

My current favorite is a Ruyan Bling cigar, with an M401 atomizer :) Best of both worlds...

Easy. The FIRST one I disassembled was a disaster. I didn't take pics of that !! ;-)

Once I saw how it was constructed it was easier.
On the next one I just cut the black outer ring with a dremel wheel.
When that comes off, the atomizer basically falls apart.

Note - I didn't need that part anymore so I didn't care about cutting it.
But it is pressed on. There is probably some way to get it off so you could reuse it if you were going to try to rebuild the atomizer.

Hello...

My name is Leandro and I’m from Brazil... :)

First, I’m so sorry about my poor English. I hope you can understand.

We have a forum about e-cigs in my country, using Portuguese language.

I’m writing a topic about atomizers. :)

I want to ask if you can give me authorization to copy the content of your topic, including images and post in my forum.

I will place a link to original post and give you all credits.

Thank you very much. :) :)

Well I documented the 901 dissasembly, but I guess there is a 15 post min before I can post pics! That sucks....
Will try and post more and get the pics uploaded.

How about a 401 battery dissembled?
Not a 401 but a duraC parts. You could expect the battery to be the same. It is a shame I tossed my 510 atty peices, it appeared to have only a few strands of wicking inside the coil wich was not removable from the tray. I used them to test soaking in different cleaners to see if they had any deteriorating affect.

Very nice pics and info RjG, every time I find a new post from you I am amazed with the detail of the pics.
I see on the wick and white thing the coil is in their seems to be some kinf of glue or somthing to hold them in place? if so how do you get that off without trashing the parts?

Does it strike anyone else that the atomizer pot looks exactly like a face? Sort of like a mask?

Its saying, "I want to eat your children"
