My M402 came in the mail three-ish days ago and I would like to state for the record, that barring some major evidence that eCigs are worse than the real thing health-wise, I am never giving it up and going back to analogs.

I would like some advice from the more experienced vapers out there on how I might improve the 402. Overall I am very happy with it, and even if I weren't, replacing it isn't in my budget anytime soon. So "replace it with X" advice won't help much.

So far I've done the BufPuf plug/spring mod and the teabag mod on my carts and both seem to vape well and increase the amount of juice I can put in the cart dramatically.

Does anyone know of any other mods that would work well with the M402?

I'm somewhat curious about the HV/LR route, although I haven't done enough research to see which is better, especially for longevity.

Thanks in advance.

My main PV is M401/M402 though I also own a 510 and a KR808D-1.

I use blue foam mod on my M402 and M401 carts. Here's a video about doing it but I need to make the plug a bit larger than he did or I get leaks. I started by cutting down the cheap precut blue foam stuffing from StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop! (it is cut for the larger carts of 510/901 but at .75 for 10 it's a cheap way to try blue foam. if you like it, you can buy the totally uncut stuff as Marineland Rite-size U Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart). Note - the guy in this video is using a thick block of gray foam that is similar density and material.

This is Fluval stuffing (a kind of stuffing I haven't tried yet).

Other things you might want to try is M402 is manual batteries if you got autos - all of my batteries are manuals. And you might want to try an M401 battery because they are still a reasonable length and last 20% longer.

One thing you can't do safely with an M4xx battery is drip because there is a hole in the end of both the auto and manual batteries. However you can dip with it. This is part of a review on M4xx manual batteries and ends with something about dipping.

There are some cartomizers around for M401 if you search - I bought some but haven't tried them yet.

The main fun I've been having is trying juices - actually buying a ton of them - to find the ones I like. So far, my main vapes are Backwoods Brew Casablanca or I vape FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship occasionally adding a drop of FSUSA Chocolate and/or FSUSA oRYental (a light sweet RY4, i.e. vanilla and caramel tobacco). For a fun flavor, my favorite so far is Velvet Vapors Raspberry Ginger Ale by itself and I also like their Vanilla Almond Tobacco (it's similar to a 555 but smoother and sweeter than many, and I use it to flavor plainer tobaccos). I also like adding a bit of Backwoods Brew Peach to a plain tobacco juice. The M4xx have good flavor and that's one thing I like about them.

And here is the M4xx section of this forum

And my other piece of advice is to have at least 2 attys. I am not a super heavy vaper - I don't vape all the time. So I can go a week on one atty. Then on the weekend I start cleaning that one and switch to a clean dry atty (I prime it with some juice first). My cleaning procedure is to swish the the used one in a jar of edible clear alcohol (I use vodka but grain alcohol is better) and I let it soak in alcohol overnight. Next day I swish then shake it out and set it on paper towels to dry. the next weekend I switch to that one. You can speed up the cleaning procedure a lot - my way is just easy.

BTW - I use the gold-colored attys because they look ok with all of my battery colors (I have white, matte black, and the pretty matte black w/ gold design batteries I got at MyPVShop).

Thanks for the response, and all of the advice. I haven't looked into cartomizers yet because of the difficulty a lot of people mention about refilling, but Id be interested in knowing your experience with them when you try.

Going on my third day now. Had two analogs the first day, one the second and I'm analog-free all day so far. I've been smoking for 20+ years, and I've tried quitting several times. This is too easy. Too good to be true. We'll probably find out one day that the Chinese have been sneaking secret mind-controlling drugs into them or something...lol
