I've only been vaping for a month, so take my comparison for what it's worth.
I recently bought an M601XL atty and carts to go with my M601 kit. At first, I thought "Hey! This is awesome!". There seemed to be so much more vapor, and the flavour was different. As I kept on using it, I couldn't quite place the difference in taste. This afternoon I realized it was a plasticy taste. I know something like taste is really subjective, but that's the only way I can describe it.
I decided to try aligning the cart differently. The atty on the M series has that V, and at first I was putting it so the V dipped into the cup in line with the oval shape (I suck at describing stuff). I decided to clean the atty and try it perpendicular. Still, I couldn't shake that taste. I looked at all my carts that I used and none of them look melted at all. This is all with the DFLRPTB mod (I'm not typing that out
). I decided to go back to my 601 atty/carts and I'm much more satisfied with the taste.
The only thing I dislike about the 601 carts is that they leak. A lot. I've tried with the standard polyfill, the PTB carts, and the DFLRPTB mod, and it still leaks. If I roll the PTB tighter, I get less leakage, but then it doesn't wick.
This seems to be contrary to what most people experience. I'll probably keep the M601XL atty and snag a drip tip for it because I don't think it's the atty, must be something to do with the carts.
Anyone else experience anything similar?
I'm hoping the M series E2 carto's don't suck for me, since some people seem to have gotten decent results with them.
EDIT: Should also add that I don't believe I'm overfilling the 601 carts. If it pools on top, I dab it with a kleenex, then lay it on top and let it wick a little bit of the juice onto it.
