made my first coil

Ok I made my first coil. Used 30 kanthal did 12 wraps on a blunt tip and got 2 ohms no shorts so was happy with that. Only problem is I reassembled using organic cotton for a wick and it keeps flooding.
This is an Anyvape Davide that I rebuilt. Any suggestions on what I may have done wrong.

Could be a number of things but first, what ratio pg/vg is your liquid?

General rule of bottom coil clearos, if it's flooding use more wick, if it's giving dry hits, use less. You have to find the sweet spot.

Yes, less wick. I've never used organic cotton so I don't know the difference between that and my cotton balls but I usually use just a small pinch, enough that I can roll it into a wick between my thumb and forefinger. Probably about an inch long and barely wider than the tip of a pen.

12 wraps on a blunt tip to get 2 ohms sounds like a pretty small diameter coil. Try rolling a small wick to put on top like a flavor wick on a protrank coil. You probably have a decent gap between the chimney and your wick. The extra wick on top will keep excess liquid from flowing in to the coil.

Ok thanks will play around with the amount of wick till I find the right amount

Thanks for the tips added a small flavor wick on top of some more organic cotton and it worked perfectly

Just built my first coils last night.

30ga kanthal around a 2mm mandrel 6-7 wraps. One piece of P&C yarn and a pulled single strand for flavor wick. Read 1.5Ω so I will tweak more now that I got the hang of it.

This one had a few more wraps but I haven't tested it yet. Just trying to make them so they fit.
