Good Afternoon ECF! Today I am doing a two-fer; dual review of the VooPoo Panda and VooPoo Rune rda! The Panda is VooPoo's pod-based system that accomodates the use of Nic Salt with a 1.2ohm pod, or regular ejuice with a 0.8ohm pod. The VooPoo Rune is a a 24.6mm rda That has bottom airflow and comes with VooPoo's beautiful resin drip tips. So how well do these VooPoo products stand up to what's currently on the market? Read below for my evaluation.
I have had the Panda for 3 weeks now and the Rune for 4 weeks and feel I can give a fair assessment of their quality.
The Panda was sent to me from VooPoo for the purpose of a review.
I had purchased the Rune on my own dime from VaporDNA for $31.98 shipped. VooPoo then sent me another one for review, so I'll be giving that one away.

VooPoo Panda
The Panda is VooPoo's egg-shaped entry into the crowded pod-based device category. Seriously, I can't even count how many pod based systems there are on the market now. They're not aligned with my prefered style of vaping, but I know there are many that enjoy these devices. I know VooPoo isn't the first to do it, but it's nice to have different pods for Nic Salt and Regular E-Juice to accomodate various vapors, so I can appreciate that. Let's start at the top.
Top: The top of the Panda houses the fire button and protruding mouthpice. The firebutton is quite clicky and the mouthpiece is removable and a comfortable shape. They are quite close together and so it makes it a bit awkward to hold as youre finger is going to be resting on the side of your face when you hit the device. The top piece of the panda is removeable and is secured onto the base via a strong magnet on the inside. For reals, though, the magnet is quite strong. I tried holding the top and giving it some vigorous shakes and could not get it to detach from the base, so it works very well. A little too well as forcing the top off can have the affect of launching your pod out of the device. This doesn't happen often, but it has happenhed. There are also guide indentions that make lining up the top and base a cinch. One more thing to note about the top is there are some pod-seating pieces that protrude from the bottom to help hold the pod in place when everything is attached.
Bottom: The bottom of the Panda on the inside houses the large pods. There are two spring-loaded contact nipples (giggidy) on the bottom inside that make connection to the contact points on the pod. This is the part that has the potential to send your pods flying when removing the top. The pods aren't really secured into the device until you put the top onto the base. On the bottom outside you have a USB charge port and airflow channel. The airflow channel runs up the bottom, through some channels on the inside, and through the pod.
Styling: I guess it looks like a panda? I don't know. Where they got the name I'm not sure. The device I received is the black and white version. The device is predominantly white and has a black accent piece along the center. Fire button and mouthpiece are also black. To me it looks more like a flattened egg. The shape of the device really isn't bad, though. It's very comfortable to hold and lightweight. I actually really like how it looks.
Pods/Performance: Flavor started out decent for a pod-based device using both the 1.2ohm and 0.8ohm pods. I wouldn't say there is great flavor, but there isn't no flavor. Both pods work pretty well for what their intended use is advertised. The 1.2ohm pod has a pretty nice hit for nic salts and the 0.8ohm pod is okay for regular ejuice. My biggest gripe with the device as a whole is the airflow. For nic salts, there is too much airflow for it to be MTL and it's more of a restricted DTL. And for regular ejuice it doesn't hit hard enough for me. I primarilly use 3mg ejuice, and I feel like it's more suited for 6mg and up. As for battery life, it lasted quite a while and recharging the device takes about an hours time.
Final Thoughts
Pros
When it comes down to it, the VooPoo Panda is just an okay device. I really like the feel to it and how simple it is to drop in a pod, snap the top on, and start vaping. It also just really feels like a nice device. Everything fits together very well, battery life is nice, and it doesn't take long to fully charge. On paper, the Panda looks like a killer device. However, I feel like it would be better if they tweaked their pods a bit for better flavor, restricted airflow for the Nic Salt pod, and allowed the regular ejuice pod to hit harder.

VooPoo Rune RDA
The Rune is VooPoo's second entry into the RDA scene. If you missed the Demon RDA, don't worry as you're not missing too much. It's like night and day when comparing the two devices. The Rune is quite the amazing RDA. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's jump off this review and start at the best place possible: the top.
Drip Tip/Top Cap: Ever since the Drag came out with a resin panel, I wished VooPoo would release drip tips using that same resin. Well, the UForce T1 came out and with it came those beautiful resin drip tips. Just one problem, they weren't Goon style 810. Color me disappointed. But then they announced the Rune and to my great suprise and satisfaction they made 810 resin drip tips! EFF YEAH! Okay, so I know it's a small thing, but I really do like the resin drip tips included with the Rune. On most variations of the Rune, the top cap has a "rune" pattern etched around it. There is one SS version that does not have the pattern. I know some people don't care for the pattern, but I don't mind it. The top cap is secured into the barrel by an o-ring, and has a nice conical shape to it. I really like the top cap on the Rune as it allows you to pop it off and paint your coils without having to remove the entire barrel and messing with your airflow. Very nice design for this.
Barrel/Airflow: The Barrel has "VooPoo" etched on either side and perpendicular to that has the airflow slots. The only other thing I want to mention about the barrel is that on the inside there are a few notches that line up with tracks on the top of the deck. This essentially acts as a stopper for your airflow whether turning it left or right. You will not round-robin the barrel. This is a nice little feature that is really inconsequential, but I like the thought that went into it. The airflow is rectangular in shape with a divider in the middle. The edges are angled inward to direct the airflow through the deck. The airflow ports on the bottom of the deck are also angled, so I guess it's just keeping the air flowing in that same direction. I'm a bit confused with the use of the divide on the airflow and feel it is unnecessary as removing it would seem to produce the same results. I mean, I'm no airflow guru, but I just don't see the point. If you want to cutdown your airflow and didn't have the divider, it would have the same affect. You might even get a bit more airflow without it there. As for the amount of airflow, it's decent. It's not as airy as I was expecting, but it works pretty well for my 3mm ID builds.
Deck: The Rune has a postless build deck. Postless decks aren't known to be beginner friendly, but I actually really enjoy building on them. The "posts" are configured on the far sides of the deck with the bottom airflow coming up right inbetween them. Since it is a postless deck, when building, you will need to precut your coil leads so that they are situated accordingly. I found that a few mm above the airflow worked really well. This allows plenty of air to flow out of the air holes, hit the bottom of the coils, and travel up nicely. The sides of the deck are very high walled and allow for lots of juice to be retained in the well without worry of it leaking through the bottom airflow slots. When squonking, the juice is squeezed through a raised 510 pin and directed to either side for even saturation. The raised pin is nice as it keeps all the juice from being sucked back into the bottle when releasing. I have to say, the deck on the Rune is really nice and really well thought it.
Performance: If you haven't guessed it already, I absolutely love the Rune RDA, and it shines when it comes to performance. I threw a few different builds into the atty; some regular 22ga Kanthal, SS triple core fused claptons from AVS, and my go to SS claptons from AVS. Each build produced great results with great flavor, but my trusty AVS SS claptons were my favorite. There's not much else I can say about performance as I found it to be such a great RDA.
Final Thoughts
Pros
There's not much in the way of flaws with the Rune RDA. VooPoo did a fantastic job designing this RDA and I feel like they took the time to figure out what actually works well. From the top to the bottom, it really feels like the Rune was meticulously designed to be a great RDA, and it definitely shows when it comes to performance. At such a great price point, if you have been on the fence about getting one I would suggest you strongly consider this RDA and don't feel you will be disappointed.
