I'm getting ready to order the 5v 510 Box Mod Kit. I'm new to vaping, and just started out with a PV from Smokeless Image, KR808 style PV. So with the 501 I need to order both some attys and cartridges? Not just the cartos right? Which kind do you all recommend. I didn't want to order the cheapest they had. Want to make sure I order something decent.

Please advice.

Fast shipping, unbeatable prices, extensive selection of e cig equipment. A++

VV box mod is the best gateway to trying out VV devices. That little black box made me a believer and led to me buying 3 provaris, one darwin, one VV splash by Shan, and a Lava tube. Thanks mad vapes

Hmmm...I have been wanting to try a VV mod and I was thinking about going straight to the ProVari (when I graduate school and actually have a paycheck coming in Lord willing)...maybe I will go small at first with this unit to see if I like this. I am a huge Mad Vapes fan so it might be worth checking out. Thanks.

zara1269, the inexpensive MadVapes VV mod is well worth checking out!

In the final analysis, the quality of a vape is all about volts and current through your atty or carto -- all the rest is mere style. This was brought home to me when I did a comparison test: my Reo mini vs. my MadVapes cheapoid standard box mod (for about 1/9th the price of the Reo), both fired by AW IMR 14500 batteries through 3.0 ohm Boge cartos. While the Reo mini feels better in the hand, the quality of the vape was identical.

I have found that the little potentiometer on the MadVapes VV mod is a bit twitchy and must be adjusted carefully, with constant reference to a multimeter. But once at the "sweet spot," it stays adjusted just fine.

For me, the "sweet spot" is 3.7-3.8 volts. So I discovered that VV is not necessarily for me. The MadVapes VV mod was a very cheap way to find this out, for which my wallet is forever thankful.

MadVapes is a good site to do business with, if they do screw up an order they are quick to resend out the right stuff.
I'll second that; my latest MV order came 3 small items short (out of 23). Started a ticket on the site, and got an "order confirmation" e-mail on the replacement parts almost before
I could stand up. It is just seemingly a truth that bigger operations like MV will make more mistakes than a small op, but as long as they are quick to make amends..GoodOn'Em! Vape On!!

Kind: if you haven't finalized your order yet, there are a coupla option. You can simply get an adapter: 510-to-808 (battery always comes first, then cart/carto when talking adapters), about $3. Or get some 510 cartos. I'm assuming that the 808 system you are using cartomizers, not carts and atty's. No need to go that route if you haven't yet. That being said, you might want to get one 510 atty and a drip tip for testing new liquids. As far as specific 510 cartos go, you can't beat madvapes 3152 duel coils. Vape on!
edit: just noticed that you are getting the 5VOLT box. probably want to stay with a higher ohm carto than the 3152 to start. I see that they also offer a 3 ohm duel; #3259.
