I picked up a Magma the other day and can't seem to get a good build on it.

My first attempt was dual 9wrap, 26g, 3/32id = .45ohms. I wicked it with cotton running down the well and covering only the base of the well. In other words, I didn't fill up the well with cotton. The result was a scorching hot vape.. I like a hot vape, but this was ridiculous. I've done the same build in myriad other rda's and it worked just fine.

So, I made the assumption that maybe the Magma functioned better at higher resistances, so I simply removed one coil. That left me with a single coil at .9ohms.. still scorching hot.

Ideas/recommendations?

ummm unstack your batteries :) JK ;)

Mine aren't hot to me with ~0.4ohm duals..26awg..try a higher resistance, but dual coil.

More airflow. More surface area for heat.

How close are your coils to airflow? I have the lower leg of the coil go to the common post, and I practically lay it on top of the air hole.

I have mine built dual coil @ .55 w/28g, wrapped on a 5/32 bit. Wicked with cotton.

The closer you can get it to the air holes the better. Like 1mm close. Cooler. Denser. Better.

Yep, easy fix. I've got a single 26g coil about 1mm off the deck.. .8ohms. Perfect.

Ended up using the fluffy inside of a kohgendoh pad and rolled it up iteo style for wicking. Using that method, I think it actually tastes better than Rayon. Doesn't last quite as long, but still a good long while. 10ml's in and it's still making that lovely snap, crackle, pop sound.

One other interesting thing of note; I find I get the best flavor and smoothest draw using a single coil, but with both airholes open. Couldn't tell you why.. it just works.

Thanks for the help.

try a single coil 28 Guage parallel 4-5 wraps on 2.4ish mm got me. 5 ohms and it's not that hot of a vape quite comfortable actually for a sub ohm

That is my setup.
Hands down my favorite Atty.

You can get 1:1 clone from fasttech for about 14$. The quality is great as original one.

It truly is. Best FT item I have ever received

Yeah.. can't believe the quality on the Infinite clone.. With most atties I have, the authentic version is obvious. Tanks in particular, clones just can't seem to mimic the little things that do actually make a difference. (Mods are another story, I have several clones that are actually higher quality than the authentic imo).

In other words, the Infinite Magma that I bought has authentic quality. Got mine for $30 at a B&M here in Garden City.

Got mine in 2 days early. It definitely lives up to the hype. I only have 2 complaints.

1) The 510 pin is a little too long for my MVP but it's not that big of an issue.

2) It holds too much juice! I'm used to being able to switch juice frequently on all my RDAs but this one just keeps vaping and vaping and vaping! :vapor:

Vape it on a more powerful setup with a hotter coil and all of a sudden the well doesn't seem that big!

i recieved a magma a tobh & atomic the other week from fasttech, apart from the post screws they are all really good quality, i always setup my coil's as close as possible to the holes on anything i use, maybe 1/2mm, sometimes have to check with a torch that i'm not touching :D all 3 vape about the same with the same coils & wick setup, the atomic had the better clouds but its the smallest chamber so if hotter coils were in the other two they'd be about the same but the flavour was the same on all 3 :)
