Got the Magneto, RSST, and IGO-W in today...
Very pleased with the Magneto... It has the adjustable center pin, which is nice... Also has the Smok logo engraved into the side, which I kind of like...
Only thing I am even remotely bothered with, and this is small beans stuff, is the extension tube seems awfully thin and weak, and the polished area that the locking ring threads up and down on looks like it may be chrome plated, as opposed to polished stainless. Not a huge deal, certainly not deal breakers. Seems well built, the button actually has a lot more resistance on it than I thought it would. A lot of magnetic opposition to pop that button back out. Seems like it has a bit more opposing force than a Poldiac. Definitely like the button, although pressing it anywhere but the middle is a little crunchy. Gotta hit it right in the middle and it's buttery smooth. I don't find it wobbly at all at the extension with an 18650 or 18490. Maybe this is something else they addressed with the V2 revision... I'm very happy with it overall, and give it high marks for a "budget" mechanical. This is a quality piece...
The RSST is kinda iffy... The materials seem good enough, but there is a couple of areas that they could have done better on... First thing, it looks great on the Magneto, no question about that... The draw, IMO is too tight... definitely going to need to drill out the air hole. I really wish the top cap was secured in place by two O-rings instead of one. The single o-ring hold fine, but the top cap can rock back and forth on top, where if it was held in place with 2 O-rings I think it would not wobble as much. They probably could have used a reduced air chamber design rather than a wide open top cap... I really like the spring on the positive post, and that the wick hole is insulated from ground. This will make rebuilds a lot easier. The tank, while plastic, is also a great design in that it insulates the bottom of the wick, so there really shouldn't be any issues with your coil grounding to the wick, even with minimal oxidation. I do think they could have accomplished this same goal by using a plastic disc that covered the bottom as an insulator, and used a pyrex tank that was a little bit larger in capacity. Seems like they could have used an o-ring at the top of the tank section where it mates up with the top stainless section. This seems like a potential leak area, although I would never recommend laying a Genesis style RBA on its side. I wasn't so sure about the little rubber fill hole cover, but it's not so bad. I thought it would be a lot more difficult getting it in and out of there. So with a few areas of improvement, I think Smok could make a good RBA into a great RBA using 2 O-rings to secure the top cap, upgrading to a pyrex larger capacity tank while retaining an insulated base section.
The IGO-W... Not much to say about that... It's a dripper, and I'm sure it's going to vape great.
Unfortunately, my wick and wire isn't here yet... For whatever reason it was shipped quite late... Won't be using that vendor again. So I haven't been able to vape anything just yet...
The IGO-W did come with a little bit of silica wick and what looks like about 2 or 3" of 32AWG kanthal... Enough to make a single coil high ohm setup... I'll just wait til the 28AWG arrives and give it a real go.
So far, pretty happy with the purchase just based on first impressions. Really looking forward to trying out this RSST... Even with the flaws I nit pick about, it looks to be one of the easiest Genny builds out there.
