As far as I know, the Magneto is a mechanical mod produced by Shenzhen smok Technology CO., LTD (Smoktech)

It has some design cues from other mods out there, but I don't believe it is a "clone" of anything.

That being said, I personally find it to be a muddled mess as far as visual appeal goes and I especially dislike the smok logo on the side and the spider on the end cap. Even if:

Some people claim the Magneto is a clone of the Nzonic, but the similarity ends with the fact that it's a telescopic metal tube with a magnetic switch. It obviously wasn't the first to have any of its features, but it isn't really a clone, it's just not innovative. For its price, its a very decent mechanical mod.

The V2 Mgneto doesn't have the giant Smok logo on the tube. Just the spider button and a very lightly etched "Magneto 1939" on the locking ring. I think the 1939 is a model designation, as I've seen similar numbers associated with some of their other mechanical devices.

Realistically everything with the right connections (copper or pure silver) is a clone minus some different styling. Either you have a fixed tube or telescoping mech. Then you either have the button up top, the side or the bottom. Pick a metal for the case. There are only so many ways to design something so simple you know.

The Magneto isn't an Nzonic clone, not by a long shot. IDK how that ever became a thing.

What it IS, is a solid entry level mech. Comes in SS or Brass, with or without the SMOK logo. Look for the version 2, which has the adjustable center pin on the top cap. I think the V1, without that adjustable pin, is a major design flaw.

It actually has kind of a double meaning. The comic book character Magneto lived with his parents in Poland in 1939 when the Nazi's invaded it and his mother was killed. It was also the first time Magneto used his mutant powers. Also the actor that plays Magneto in the movies (Sir Ian McKellen) was born in 1939. Now this might not be the reason Smok went with the number.......but it makes sense to me! lol
