If it is a linear reg no problems. but if you have a switching regulator then you don't want to get a magnet to close to the inductor. I doubt it will break it but it for sure can affect the the operation of the regulator since inductors create their own magnetic field when juice is flowing threw them .
okr's have a shielded inductor on them. It should be fine as long as your not right on top of it. I would try to stay at least a inch away from the inductor. Here is a pic of one so you know what to look for .
With the PTN04050 I have a N35 magnet about 11mm from the shielded inductor (on the far end of the board) and am seeing no adverse effects in operation.
