I am notorious for starting a bunch of diff threads & bugging people relentlessly--I promise I won't do that here. This only thread I'll start for my questions.
Wanting to make a small light weight flashlight mod that will produce a 6v hit. For now, I'd like to just get started on ordering & buying the beginning things I'd need.

Wondering if I can use a small penstyle flashlight like this:
DealExtreme: $2.99 Pen Style Medical Flashlight with Clip (2*AAA)

or do 3 volt batteries come in that size?

or does anyone have a quick link to a light weight (even plastic--I don't care) flashlight that accepts 2 CR123 batteries or something like that?

Or are the ultrafire batteries about the size of a AA--surely I could find a cheap flashlight that fits 2 AA sized batteries. (no, of course I wouldn't actually use AA batts, but most of those purple ones that folks use look about the same size but with higher voltage)

Thinking that might be the easiest way to go--start with a flashlight that already takes these types of batts. All that would really need to done is wiring the atty connector, right?

Any flashlight that you can mod at 6V will be bigger than a Nano.

yeah--i'm aware of that. It also will not require taking out a second mortgage :D I've gotten used to pushing a button and have really gotten used to 5 volts. Like the kick; could use a little more. I might;ve kept the nano if it provided a decent kick. Now I know a little more about this kind of thing (& voltage) & which direction I'd like to go...

When I first started I wanted something that looked like a cigarette. Now the look and size aren't the important thing at all. I am amazed that some people don't like 6V. To me the BE112 atty at 6V is as good as it gets.

The Nano ran at 3.7 volts, hence, no kick.

I went the DIY route thinking I would save some serious cash by doing so. Wrong. The tactile switches break in a few weeks requiring them to be replaced frequently. This gets old quickly. E-liquid can seep into the battery compartment of a flashlight mod (depending upon your skill and ingenuity levels) requiring routine cleaning. I did have some success with a spring center condutor on my DIY atomizer connector from a Radio Shack 1/4" phone jack, but this design would only las a few months before the spring would break. The whole DIY thing was a great learning experience, but not satisfying as I could not always trust that my device would work.

I will say to you one last time that taking out a second mortgage to buy a commercially available device, that just plain works, is worth all the money I spent making unreliable 6 volt mods. The Super-T is thin (think roll of dimes), lightweight, handmade to very tight tolerances, with excellent safety and design features. This is a steal for long term durability. It works reliably, battery replacements are inexpensive, and looks great. I thought it was worth purchasing a made-from-scratch, domestic device with the best PV warranty in the industry - three years.

If you want to save a few bucks and get something that runs at 6v at a lesser cost, look at the Copper or Chuck. While these devices use some off-the-shelf parts, they are the least expensive way to get into high-voltage vaping. Each has a following here on ECF.

    Somewhere between here and there
I just bought four of those flashlights about a week ago at my local dollar store. You might want to check there. I just finished a flashlight mod with one and posted some pics in the battery mods forum if you would like to see it. I used one 18500 battery but now after reading this thread, I wonder if two of the cr123 batteries would fit in there. The battery holder that came with the lights is 20mm x 50mm. I will have to check the battery specs to see if they would fit.
