I found an interesting way to add the extra length to the budget flashlights to make room for an 18650. a 3/4" copper pipe cap presses nicely into the open end of the flashlight.

Behold! The Phlashlite!

I also figured out how to make the clicky switch in the bottom into a momentary pushbutton.

Nice! I actually did the same thing but took it apart cause I wanted the cap. Nice work looks good with the red too.

What did you do to convert to a momentary switch?

You just have to pop the switch out of the tailcap, then when you get the switch apart, you have to glue the button parts together, and remove the protrusions that engage the housing to lock it on/off. Then you move the contacts from the top of the switch to the bottom, and reassemble.
