Batteries in parallel do not increase voltage; they increase current handling and capacity by splitting the load between cells.
If you are going to get unregulated box mods you need to understand ohms law and how the resistance of your atomizer relates to the wattage the coil will run at (effecting the heat of your vape), and the amperage it will pull from the batteries, so you will also need to understand what cell discharge rating is and how it relates to your safety.
Parallel battery mods are inherently a bit safer as they halve the load on each cell (assuming a 2p mod).
Don't get into unregulated until you have educated yourself.

I just pulled the trigger on one from vapeheadz unregulated 26650 dual parallel with 2 50amp 26650's whet on his word that that would be the best for this mod with my .1-.2 builds has built-in charger Red led charging.....green or blue led is charged w/o mosfit I will post pics when it comes in
This will be my 1st unregulated box mod hope I did well did a lot of googling
Total was 103$ shipped
Pic I found of there box

Looking for pros and cons on Dual 26650 or Triple 18650 or dual 18650 parallel

Regulated
Pros:
- Consistent Power Output
- Able to check battery level, resistance, accurate voltage & watts level
- PROTECTION (Short-Circuit, Reverse Battery, battery Drain)
- Much more safer than a Mech

Cons:
- Less durable compared to Mechs
- If you're a crazy ... builder and has a wonky regulated you can fry the chip

Unregulated
Pros:
- You can get really low, and I mean low on your builds, but you are on the mercy of your batteries
- You can get really creative with your builds
- IMO Unregulateds are more for the CloudChasers and Cloud Comp peeps
- Durable, you can drop it a thousand times

Cons:
- Weakening Vape as your batteries drains
- Not having the ability to check your resistance, battery level (I have drained batteries to as low as 2.8v on a mech)
- You are at the mercy of your batteries

Now, you can compare it :)

Personally, I use a high power regulated mod.
I can CloudChase at 150watts with a 0.1 ohm coil and I can Flavor Chase at 30 watts with a .7ohm coil in a kayfun plus I have all the protection I need and all the info's regarding resistance, battery level and power output.
When I got the IPV3 last february, I have not look back on mechs since :)

So I'll bite and re-itterate the relavent information.

OP wanted to know pros/cons of various amounts of imr cells in parallel.

When batteries are operated in parallel the load (in this case your atomizer) is split between the amount of batteries in the array. If there are two batteries and you have a 10 amp load that means each battery receives 5 amps of load and discharges half as fast (assuming your batteries are fully charged you will have about 4 volts. A 0.4 ohm atty draws 10 amps @ 4 volts, producing a 40 watt vape). For a three battery array, each cell receives 1/3rd the total load.

With a parallel battery box you cells will stay above their dump point for much longer so overall you will get a fresh battery vape for longer vs a single cell.
The other, and main advantage is safety from splitting the load between cells. This allows lower resistance builds or just a larger safety margin.

Get steam engine. Learn ohms law and understand the specs of the batteries you are using. If you refuse to educate yourself you really have no business building on an unregulated device.
