Hi all -- I've been reading tons and tons of threads here since I decided to try and quit smoking by vaping instead...You are all my #1 resource during this big switch!

Thanks a ton for your help everyone, its been great because it can be tricky getting started on vaping.

I have a question: I got my first kit from V2 Cigs -- an 808D battery and cartomizers, and I liked it enough to say hey, I can do this. After a few days, I went online and bought an eGo Twist and some kanger t2's and some juice -- wow what a difference! I love it...Im having a blast learning about the world of vaping, trying flavors and geeking out on gear.

The question: I LOVE my eGo Twist / clearomizer set up, but I'm hesitant to bring it out into public...I'll use it at home constantly, take it in my car, but beyond that I get self-concsious about using a big, strange looking (to those unfamiliar) device in public. Especially in my line of work, I dunno, it seems sort of..."unprofessional?" I know that might sound dumb, and maybe I'll get over it, but for now, my issue is that I no longer get much satisfaction out of my v2 setup (which I have no problem using in public / in places i might be seen by co-workers and clients etc) since I'm spoiled on the twist/clearo setup. I like that to anyone not giving me the once over, my v2 just looks like a cig and no one pays me any mind.

Is there a better set up that looks more like a real cig and less like a 'device' that I can get awesome satisfaction out of while out in the world? I basically need a low-key, under-the-radar kit that doesnt draw attention to itself...can anyone suggest a battery and cart/atty setup?

I hope this makes any sense...

SO thrilled to be off real cigs and loving my vaping adventure! All advice hugely helpful!

Hey Better, welcome to the ECF! Congrats on making the switch! After you have made 5 posts, you can post in other areas of the forum.

Regarding your question... That is a hard one to answer. Many of us (who arent looking for a huge device) are eagerly waiting for the day when ecigs will become stronger and smaller lol.

Have you considered a Mini eGo 350mAh and a Mini Vivi Nova with metal tank? The Mini eGo is very powerful, and comes in various colors and so does the metal tank on the MiniVivi Nova. I get an awesome vape with this combo. So, although it's not as slim as a KR-808-D, it is tiny and cute and doesn't look as 'awful' as a huge Twist with a clearomizer.

Oh and search for eRoll here on the forums. That is a new ecig that is coming soon. Apparently very powerful and about the size of a normal cigarette. Ie. even shorter than a 808!!! I will be getting one as soon as they are available.

I felt weird using my devices in public at first but the way I see it if someone is curious they will ask and then I will explain. It helps to raise awareness and help inform people about what we do, smokers especially because they may make the switch too after hearing good info and are pointed in the right direction if interested.

I agree.....I wish I had the opportunity to see vapers in public..that would probably pushed me to make my switch sooner.

Welcome! I have been using my super e cig with custom cart fluid, hoping to move on to a twist soon. I have turned heads when I started using it in the cafeteria as a friend asked, "is it healthier than a hooka?" XD right now, I have a fellow vapor in the local college :) and I believe he is in ECF somewhere if not, I'll bring him in :) My 'lil pocket hookah I'm bringing more in the vapor world soon, still miss the regular hookah but all you have to know is you're living longer!

Welcome to ECF, and congratulations on quitting! You've taken a huge step (and apparently started with an awesome kit :) )

I'm subscribing to this thread because a friend of mine is also looking for stealth-vape suggestions. I'll happily vape downtown, just hoping someone will ask so I can tell them these things. I still can't believe they got me off smokes. They're amazing. Totally understand that some set ups might look a little too science-fiction for every situation.

Good luck to you!

Lol, isn't that frustrating... Like when you WANT people to ask, and no one even notices or cares :p. I vape everywhere in Tokyo and not a single solitary person has ever said anything or even noticed - as far as I can tell. Although Japanese do tend to mind their own business. It's an art form :D, since they have years of practice pretending and even believing they are ALONE in a train carriage etc. even though they are literally crushed and stuffed in, to plus minus 400 people per train carriage during rush hour.

The eRoll looks like it could be what I need! Anyone know when that is supposed to come out??

In the meantime, great advice on the mini eGo -- that looks like it could really help -- very stealthy looking!

You guys are the best!!!

Thanks to you especially dragonbone!

Hello-
Sorry to be off-topic, just wanted to say what a cool name that is, betterB ; my favorite ES song (well, one of my favorites: Kinda hard to narrow down to just 1. : / ).
I assume that's where it's from...?

you got it! a favorite of mine as well (obviously...) but like you said, impossible to narrow it down; so glad you noticed!

Progress update: firstly, I took dragonbone's advice and bought the mini eGo -- super cheap and I'm excited about it! Secondly, I went ahead and pulled out my eGo Twist with a big ol Kanger T2 brimming with juice today in front of a few colleagues with whom im pretty close, and every one of them said "COOOOOL!" they all are smokers and all wanted to try it (i hope they arent sick, cause i let em!) and they were all super impressed, asking me all kinds of questions (gave me an opportunity to show all my newfound vaping knowledge -- thanks to you guys!) and I even referred one of them to the boards! victory for vaping!
