I just received my starter kit yesterday. I've been a smoker for 20 years and am trying to quit. I recently ran into a friend of mine who quit by switching to Blu's. I did a lot of research and chose Bloog.

I'm just wondering how others made the transition from analogs to PV. I like using my BMF, but I still find myself really wanting, and smoking, an analog. I understand that it takes time to make the switch, but is there a "system" that anyone found helpful?

I smoke Marlboro Ultra Lights. I purchased 6mg cartos as I thought that would be the equivalent to my Ultra Lights. I'm thinking that maybe I went too light on the nic.

Any advice?

@mhoff: What flavor cartos did you get?
Hubby and I just started with BMF about same time as you.

Our first order was Reds 6mg and Kamel 16mg. Was thinking I'd smoke the 6mg and he would smoke the 16mg. Good thing I don't get paid for thinking : )
My hubby (Marlboro Red) likes the Red MF cartos - he has tried the 6mg and loves the taste, but needs more nic to put down the analogs completely -16mg was not enough either, so I ordered him some Red 24mg today.

I smoked Winston Lights and Kamel 16mg (like the flavor too) is just barely enough to keep me from bad cravings, so I'm going to try 24mg myself, at least for awhile.
I ordered sampler 1 today in 36mg just so I could see the difference in the throat hit at each nic mg we are trying. Also got the Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity sampler today too ; )

I have not smoke an analog since BMF came in Wednesday's mail. Pretty proud of that so far and pleasantly surprised.
I think your satisfaction level with ecigs may depend on how you like your nic delivered. Hubby hotboxes analogs so pretty sure he is a "head rush" smoker. As for myself, I always let more burn up in ashtray than I smoked. So I think my cravings more habit and going for a level of nic in body rather than burst of nic, if that makes sense.

Good luck - you can do, and if you fall off the wagon, dust yourself off, and jump right back on!

Red, 555, Cherry, and Chocolate all 6mg.

I like Red, it's fairly close to Marlboro. I haven't used the 555 enough to give a verdict. The Cherry is really sweet, not sure if I like it. Haven't tried the Chocolate yet.

I would like to try the Kamel and the RY4.

I'm going to hit this thing pretty hard this weekend to figure out what flavors i like, then will order some 24mg cartos.

I also have like 3 packs of analogs left. Way too tempting.

It's definitely a huge difference with the PV. I'm having a hard time adjusting to it. It doesn't feel "natural" like an analog. I guess it's just a matter or re-training myself.

Thanks for your help!

Hi MHoff!
I found that I needed 24mg to stave off cravings. I was a 1-2 ppd smoker, Marlboro Lights. After only a week, I seem to do okay at 18mg (many of the juices I ordered), but keep the 24mg cartos nearby and pull them out as needed.

There have been a few times (mostly during stressful work phone calls) where if the real thing was handy, I would have smoked one. Otherwise, I actually find vaping to be way better than smoking (this happened once my juice samples started to arrive LOL)

I just got the Kamel. Not bad. Have yet to find a juice that gives me as good of a TH as the Bloog cartridges.

Get that order in for the 24mg. You'll be off analogs in no time. I officially hit the one week mark today....thanks to Bloog and ECF!

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so Kamel and Coffee. Although I'll warn you....the coffee, to me, doesn't taste very much like coffee. It is, however, a solidly decent replacement as far as mouth feel, etc....for a smoke. Just don't want you to order a bazillion packs of Coffee and think they are disgusting. ha ha ha

Now that they have the sampler packs, you may want to try those!

I have been soOoo thirsty since I started vaping and

The best way to transition is to find your flavor/s and nic level first. Then get a hugh supply of it. So you do not run out. Then allow yourself a couple cigs a day if needed. At some point you will realize you do not need the analogs(what we call real cigarettes). After that it is clear sailing! Been more then two months analog free for me. I smoked about 30-35 cigs a day for over 40 years. Go Me!!!

I smoked 2 packs a day for 37 years, so I feel your pain. My advice:
Don't try to use the bloog in the same way that you used cigarettes. Vape continually throughout the day rather than waiting until you have a nicotine craving. I work, work, work, pause, vape, work, work, work, pause, vape all day long. I never get to the point where I crave the nic so I never think about wanting a cig. Good luck!

I've found that for about the first 8 days I was having 6 to 8 analogs a day. Even though I found the ecig satisfying I just couldn't stop thinking about a real smoke. I took someones advice and lit a real cig in one hand and the bloog in the other and took alternating puffs, couldn't tell the difference. Finally I had to throw away the real cigs I had. I just couldn't keep my hands off them. I said a prayer for help (something I highly recommend) and haven't had a real cig since. I started with the 24mg carts. I don't think it would have worked for me if I got something lighter. I'm still using them now. Maybe latter I will try to go lighter. Don't beat yourself up and don't tell yourself you can't have a real smoke if you want to. If your like me then as soon as you think you can't have something it's all you can think about. You'll find after a while you just don't want to. You might like the RY4. I used the menthol and Vanilla, and RY4. It seems to help to have a change once in a while. I don't seem to like the sweet flavors so far. Everybody's taste is different so until you try them you won't know. Just don't buy a large quantity until you find some you realy like. Also it helps to talk to the folks here. Good luck and keep us posted

Wow, thanks for all of the suggestions. You guys are awesome!

I did order a PCC case and some RY4 to try.

The other thing I'm struggling with is vaping in my house or at my office. My wife commented last night that she could smell it in the house and I had to do it outside. Even with the cherry flavor. So now I'm weirded out about doing it indoors, which I was really looking forward to. Does anyone else find that the smell lingers indoors?

Hi Mhoff, welcome to the gang, and thanks for choosing MaxxFusion! I'm sure you'll be very happy with your choice! :thumb:

You've gotten a lot of good advice here, and I'm sure you've already figured out that this forum serves as a terriffic support group for us all in our mutual struggle.

One thing that hasn't been said yet, though is this; don't worry too much about quitting. Don't stress over still feellng cravings, or even still needing some cigarettes.

Total tobacco abstinence is the best goal to work towards, of course. and I applaude you for making that your goal. It is ABSOLUTELY achievable, and will probably come a lot easier than you think. But it doesn't happen overnight for everyone, and there's no reason to expect it to, or to beat yourself up if it doesn't.

Remember that cigarette smoking is one of the hardest addictions to beat. And it is a life long addiction; there are permanent changes in the seratonin and dopamine receptors in the brains of smokers. So always remember that every cigarette not smoked is a victory. And if you have a few here or there, remember how many you WOULD have smoked normally, and celebrate that!

Again though, quitting tobacco cigarettes will be easier than you think. Just give it time. Many e-smokers start using e-cigs just as an occasional alternative, with no intention of quitting tobacco use, but find themselves having less ans less desire for real cigs anyway, until they quit entirely unintentionally.

So keep using it, have a cig here or there if you really feel the desire. And give yourself time to make the transition.

Hope that helps, and congratulations on the success you've already had!

[EDIT] Just as I was wroting that no one had made that point, Louie went and made that point. Great! Thanks for making me look like a liar, Louie! :p

Not really, IMO. I think your wife has a super-sniffer! (TM Psych)

Forgive me for saying so, but I think your wife is just being goofy. opps! Strike that from the record. I meant overly sensitive! My wife has the nose of a bloodhound she always made me smoke outside and when I came back in she still complained she could smell it and it made her feel sick. If I had a smoke 20 feet away from her outside she complained constantly and said it made her feel sick. Now I sit in the car with her with the windows all rolled up vapeing my brains out and she says it doesn't bother her a bit! Says she occasionally she smells a slight sweetness but thats all and she says that smells pleasant.
