Manual battery better than automatic? Really?

For some reason my 510 auto will cut off in the middle of a drag after 2-3 seconds, and then take another second to keep going. The same battery doesn't do that to my friends as often, so I'm trying to figure out if I take a drag differently or what. Anybody with any insight?

I think all auto batteries have a cut off. I know they changed it recently on the 510. Never had a 510 auto, but my old JOYE306 would be set off by sound, wind, or tapping. When they rolled around they went off. It is a safety feature. Personally, I can't take more than a 3 second drag. I used to do a double drag on my old 901. With the 510 I get as much vapor--or more--from a shorter drag.

I prefer manual. It's all second nature to me now. And, yes, they don't roll off the table! With an automatic I think you tend to suck harder to keep the damn thing going. And there's kind of a weird analog throwback that tells you brain to such harder to get it hotter. I know it's silly. With the manual, you press a button and you're already up to fill speed. Then your mind is focused on moving the vapor that 2-3 centimeters in distance. And you can use even the lightest of drags.

I keep wanting to get an automatic so I can once again mimic the act of smoking. But who needs it. I vape now.

P.S. Who am I kidding. Since the juice doesn't kill my batteries they seem to last forever. No reason not to drop an auto battery in on one of my next orders. I think I'll get a white battery so I won't get them mix up and start looking for the button!
P.P.S. Heaven-Gifts just got the mega batteries in stock. I've got to get a few of those before I go throwing money into an automatic.

I had a manual M401 switch on in my purse and I burned up the battery. (tried to recharge and got a yellow light on my charger?!?) Burned up the old fingers pretty good too. Has anyone else had a manual stay on/lit? Less than a week old and no other issues before yesterday. Still prefer manual to auto's but now I miss my burned up dragon )c:

I like automatics but the dying batteries are driving me nuts! I've been training myself with a manual passthru, and I plan to get a set of manuals for my 510. It's not as much of a problem with my 901s and 4075s (although it does still occasionally happen), so I will probably keep getting at least some automatics for them for situations where I would like to be more hands-free.
I have read you should always unscrew your battery from the atty when you aren't using it - you never know when something will depress the button, or set off an automatic, or the battery will just get stuck in the on mode. And you always need to put them in a case of some kind so they won't jostle around - if a loose battery turns on when it's shorted (maybe by a set of keys or something) - sizzle, it's gone, time to buy some new ones.

Ya, I took one of my auto 510 batts to the Skinny Puppy show on Saturday, and I didn't have much trouble with it going off unintentionally, even when I was dancing. The only time I noticed was when the crowd was cheering like mad at one point.

The only real trouble I've had with my auto has been at school on a windy day. It just was not working out for me at all.

I don't mind the autos, but I pretty much stick with the manual batteries because I have a tendency to overfill my carts. Dead batteries = :(

OT: I hate you. Skinny Puppy is going nowhere near me on this tour. Been listening to them since '93 and they won't show me the love.

Back on topic: I prefer manual batts because I often fiddle with my e-cigs: tapping them on things, twirling them in my fingers. I've noticed my autos light up when I do that. I also like the manuals for just holding in my teeth when I type (like I'm doing right now) and not having them go off when I breath or talk to someone.
