I got my 2 new XL manuals yesterday, both worked fine, but now the button on one doesn't press down at all, I can feel some give side to side but it doesn't go down for anything, is there any quick fix to this?

I never had a problem with any of my batteries up until yesterday.... I e-mailed V4L customer service & they are taking care of it.... So I do 2nd the motion to contact them.
I do have 4 manuals & never had the button stick. I hope someone can help you in the mean time.

IT WORKS AGAIN! I added an old junked cart and just twisted a little tighter and used pliers and felt some give, then voila!
Glad it worked for you too. May just be something in this batch of batteries, but I haven't had any problems since.
I've never had one stick like that... I've had them get hard to push, have to push extra hard, have to slide and push, stick wide open until the carto is unscrewed... Now, The passthru was recently redone and they work like a charm on everything that was upgraded, the cords dont rip out anymore but I don't think any changes were made to the button switch. So, I no longer have passthrus laying around due to any of these reasons, now I have dead passthru's laying around due to failed switches...lol.
Well as an update, I am going to have to trash the battery. The threaded portion is just way too loose now to use and the button doesnt have any give anymore, so I'll be ordering another one next week 
I've been worried about mine doing the same thing. Once the metal is stretched it's not going to have the same strength.
You might want to sand the threads on your new battery as some suggest here to help prevent this from happening again. And, I'd still contact Customer Support so maybe they can improve this on future batteries.
