Hi Red,

The manual switch is a tiny button on the battery, when inhaling you simply hold the button in, and let go when you stop.

It makes vaping easier, as you are in control of the length of time you want to draw. Sometimes with a real ciggie, you draw good and hard, while at other times you dont, with the manual switch you can do that with your e-cig.

The 510 is a very good choice, its what I am currently using...fabulous e-cig

I understand all posted above, but I was just curious if it worked if you just smoked it like a automatic, and never hit the button. I just didnt want to try it and ruin it, just in case. I know its the dumb question of the day.

Red --never a dum question here---you might want to buy an auto as well and give it a go--both the manual and the autos have their postivies and negatives----Sun

When I first bought my 510 it came with auto batteries, and these worked fine giving a draw of up to 7 seconds, which is really enough for most folk. But the manual batteries brought so much more to the 510. Not only could you now take a longer draw, if you wanted or could...lol, you could drip onto the atomiser without the danger of liquid seeping into the battery and damaging or worse, killing it.

Enjoy your 510
