So off bat im relatively new to e-smoking and this is my first post on the forum but thats all off topic

My first e cig was from smoking every where and so far all its done is sucked everywhere i took it it works aat times and is very inconsistent and now that im more aware of vaping its also very overpriced

However sinse ive been dripping thing have started to look up but i still think im missing the full experience of vaping. I can say though i love the concept, and the flavor is on point to not to mention the healthier feelin that ive been experiencing.

So i ordered the prodigy about 2 to 3 weeks ago and i have my fingers crossed that either tomorrow or monday is the day but the true question i have and its pretty much my only question is how does the manual switch work and why is it more beneficial i have my own guestimations but i just want a more educated opinion.
;) Thanks and sorry i rambled on i just wanted to help advertise a crappy failed product i purchase from smoking everywhere

The big positive about a manual battery is that you can press the button a second before you take a drag and the atomizer is already hot once you start taking your drag. This generally provides a better experience with a stronger throat hit.

The prodigy will not only give you a manual switch but it also brings higher voltage than your current e-cig. This will get the atomizer even hotter than standard e-cigs and that too will improve the throat hit and make it feel more like an actual cigarette.

Well the basic concept is while your inhaling you hit the button, so its like drag hit button then release button stop inhaling. Well there is the basics the other advantages to a manual is more control over the drag. A lot of times automatic e-cigs the switch is either to sensitive or not sensitive enough. My joye 510 is a good example in order to get a good long say 8 second drag I have to inhale a certain way its almost as if the e-cig is controlling me is very annoying otherwise I get a small 2 second puff. Also manual switches are dripping friendly trust me I messed a automatic battery up trying to direct drip with it. Haha 2 other people covered what I said before I could finnish typing. Anyways like they also said you can hit it just before you inhale ramping up the drag and it just gives you more control of your e-cig

But some devices like the janty stick have a cut off but yea this is true in most e-cigs.
I only hit the cut off on my JantyStick in a single drag once and it almost choked me to death doing it. I had to direct inhale straight to my lungs and I thought my eyes were going to pop out by the time the light even turned purple. Getting through the red was downright painful.

Lol its really not that bad I can hit the cutt off with 36mg juice but its hard to do, now for 18mg I can hit the cutoff as many times as I want. Weird as this sounds I enjoy the lung hit much more than a throat hit, when you get a lung hit you no your doing some serious vapping :) .

thanks for all the good info by the way the prodigys atomizer wont be self cleaning or will it and if it is doesent the self cleaning feature just shorten an atomizers life to me mines over active and i totally get what you mean about it not being sensitive if i push a button when i inhale thats great new and thats what i figured i just wanted all the if and buts cleared up i feel sometimes i waste vaping capacity because the atomizer hasnt even kicked on until maybe a second or two after i take my drag and whith analogues you never have that problem but also with the manual this would reduce the so called primer puff completely correct
and as far as the higher voltage goes well three weeks waiting im sure it will pay off

...how does the manual switch work and why is it more beneficial...

As mentioned here... It works like a 2 way radio, Press the switch to take a drag and release after the drag...Very simple operation:)

Since most "Auto Switches" operate using an integrated pressure switch located in the battery housing, the battery can not be sealed from the atomizer (There needs to be a hole in the battery where it connects to the atomizer, allowing the pressure switch to detect the negative pressure and "turn on" the atomizer).
This "Air Hole" in the battery provides a route for liquid to enter your battery from the (flooded or overfilled) atomizer and foul (Gum Up) the sensitive pressure switch, thereby ruining the battery.

This is where the term "Dripping Friendly" comes into play on a manual switch type PV/E-Cig.
Since the device doesn't require a pressure switch or air hole in the battery housing, The battery is completely sealed at the atomizer connection. There is no route available for the liquid to enter and ruin the battery.

So if you flood your atomizer by over filling a cart or get a little to generous while dripping liquid directly into the atomizer, you'll simply have a bit of excess liquid that may leak from the atomizer and can be easily wiped away.:)

Another benefit is extended battery life... Ever try to use your Automatic PV/E-Cig in a breezy area or outdoors on a breezy day? The wind blowing over an Auto switched PV will often trick the pressure switch into activating the atomizer because it "thinks" your taking a drag.

There are also Auto switches which operate based on the sound of air rushing through the atomizer holes when you take a drag (Very poor design IMO). They have a small microphone integrated inside the battery and tend to automatically turn on in any noisy environment. Not only wasting battery power but also have been blamed for many a burnt leg by folks who walked into a club or concert with their E-Cig in their pocket.
