So I've turned my Sister onto vaping and she's loving it. The problem is, she tends to draw way to fast and hard burning up the atty in the carto then complaining to me about the taste. I've tried to tell her about the long slow draw, but she just doesn't get it. It's seems to be all or nothing for her. lol

I had her try one of my manual batts (Volt - kr808d-1) and that seemed to solve the problem. She could suck as hard as she wanted, got a great amount of vapor, and no burned taste. Only problem is, she ran the batt down in about 2 hours!

I want to get her a good kit for her B-day coming up. Thinking the Ego is the way to go for her.

Question----Are all egos manual batts? And do ya'll think this will solve the problem?

If you got a 510 or mini then yeah, 2 hours is to be expected. They're only like 250mAh or thereabout.

All egos are manual, the larger batteries may have a 'turn off' feature by clicking the button 5 times in a row and on with 5 clicks again so watch for that.

The ego is 650mAh and up. One ego battery lasts me an entire day so I guess I don't vape as much as others. You can get much bigger batteries for it as well that will last much longer but I find it awkward to carry anything bigger than 650mAh size with me.

A 650mAh ego is barely bigger than a 510/808 (mini size) ecig but lasts much much longer. I think a pair of ego batteries would solve the problem.

I think the Ego/Riva is a good starter choice. I am not sure if all are manual but it will tell you on the supplier site. I always have at least two kits so no issues of batts running out or dying on me. My only other suggestion is for her to try dripping. I can control things without getting that burned taste and to me it is just easier. I have tried almost every setup and always go back to dripping.

Good luck to both of you on the journey, there is a lot to learn but that is part of the fun.

She was never a really heavy smoker - about a 1/2 pad - but she is a chain vaper! She never puts it down! I think I might start slipping some tobacco flavors in her juice and see if that will slow her down a bit. lol

I would suggest dripping to her, but she really has no patience for fiddling with it. I love anythink DIY, mechanical, or mix and measure so it's great for me.

Get her an Echo. It's an automatic but has a cutoff after 5 seconds. It come in the same size (650mah) as the Ego or 1300mah and will last all day. It uses the 808 threads so you could put one of your volt cartos on it and vape. The carto on the echo holds 3ml, so that and the battery will probably last her all day.

Edit: the Echo looks very similiar to the picture above of the Ego, the difference in that the Echo is an auto and the Ego is a manual.

The batteries last a lot longer though a constant vaper can suck one down in less than a day, especially with low resistance atomizers or cartomizers which are hotter but use battery charge faster.

Re burning - keep her on standard resistance attys and cartos I guess? The LR ones use juice faster and singe more easily.

Riva 510 is also a popular Ego clone

I recommend you check Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% off upper left of front page, then look at prices for Ego and Riva 510.

Or their Riva 901 should be able to use many KR8 cartos without an adapter if you plan to use those.

Rivas do not have the 5-click disable/enable - only Ego-T batteres have that as far as I know.

BTW cartos need to be kept damp or they will singe.

Riva and Ego are manuals BUT (BIG BUT) - Volt has a 5-second cutoff and I bet that is what is keeping her from burning the carto. After 5 seconds of button down it flashes and stops heating until the button is pressed again. I bet if she had a manual Vapor4Life KR808D-1 (which is like the original manufacturer model) with its long or non-existent manual cutoff, she would burn the cartos. And Riva/Ego cutoff is very long too. The Volt's short cutoff may be what keeps her from burning stuff. So maybe you just need to get her Volts - that may be the only way to prevent singeing. Like 3 78mm manual Volts and 2 chargers and some cartos.

The RIVA is definitely better than what she has. But an even better option would be the E-Power. Same advantages of the eGo/Riva BUT much less costly to maintain. The eGo batteries cost between $12-$20 and can only be recharged 200 times. The E-Power batteries cost about $4 and can be recharged about 2000 times. You can't beat that advantage.

What ever you get her make sure it has an auto cut-off between 6 to 10 seconds, that way she won't be frying attys. Both autos and manuals have it, most decent suppliers will state if it does.

Edit: Do Not get her an E-Power it doesn't have the auto cut-off.

None of my manual batteries have cut-offs at all.

Thanks every one for all the feed back.
I'm not terribly concerned with her using the same cartos as me. It would actually be easier to know which ones belong to who when cleaning and re filling as I will be the one doing all of that. If it's not as easy as possible, she ain't gonna do it. lol

The auto cut-off is a must. The way she vapes, there is no way I would get her anything without it.

For the time being, I am letting her borrow one of my 78mm manual Volt batts and she runs it dead within two hours then it's back to the GreenSmartLiving batts and cartos til it's charged again.

I think I'm probably gonna go with the ego from LF or a Riva. I have found great deals on both.

    Thanks again!
