Maxi roughstack battery question

Probably not. But it's vented, what's the worst that could happen? :D

I wouldn't mind a bit more info on this myself actually. I've been using 2 pcb
protected Tenergy Li-ions in my maxi-roughstack for the past couple months.
No explosions yet, but sometimes the cut off in the batterys kicks in when I take
a long drag right after I've fully charged them.
Hopefully one of the battery experts will stumble accross this thread.

Also, might want to rethink the maxi-roughstack if you are a messy dripper or want to use a tank.
I'm not sure what it is about my M-RS but when I drip eliquid seems to pool up around the atty connecter 50x worse then any other mod I've used or made. The switch isn't sealed and sits right beside the atty connector so the eliquid drains onto your battery. I sealed my switch with RTV gasket maker, so now it just all runs down the side onto my hand.
This, combined with not being able to use any tanks, shields, or rebuildable attys (due to switch placement) has made me kinda regret buying it.

I use a Maxi RS with 3.7 and 4.8 volt batteries and I like how small and pocketable it is for a big batt mod. I wouldn't stack batteries in it because first, that's way too hot for me, and second, I want the extra assurance that regulated mods provide for stacking. I've removed the switch once for a quick wash with vodka, no problem. I like that I can replace it myself if it ever needs repair.

It's at it's best with cartos in my opinion. If your primary use is tanks or you are a messy dripper (nothing personal!) it wouldn't be the first choice. It is great as an all day vape you can still fit in your pocket.

im looking in to buying a maxi roughstack , what i need to know is if its safe or a good idea to stack batteries

I stack in every mod I own that I can do it in. Never had a problem stacking in my MR. Glad to see someone else that isn't scared to do it for the perfect vape. Kudos to you.

Thats your opinion which your certainly entitled to. The last thing we need noobs hearing is that they have to stack batts to get the perfect vape. One could easily argue that I get the perfect vape with a single 18650 in my VV with an HH357 and I never have a need to unnecessarily stack batts. So heres my opinion, its a risk that is not needed to get the "perfect vape".

Wise choice man. There is nothing wrong with an expert taking an educated risk and stacking batts, but for someone whos just getting into the world of APVs you will get just as much performance out of a VV device with the proper juice and attys as you would with silly amounts of voltage. I have used both ends of the spectrum and everything in between and let me say IMHO, there is such a small difference that its not worth it when just starting out with higher end devices. Good luck and stay safe. Also make sure you practice safe batt handling and charging procedures. Get yourself a charging bag, and charge all batts inside the bag.

I stack batteries on occasion in my maxi roughstack for 6 or 7.4 volts, and I have a few VV mods I've made that use stacked batteries. That being said I have a slew of mods I enjoy using listed in my sig, and my favorite vape is a DCC at good old fashioned 3.7 volts, preferably coming from an 18650 (or two 18650s in parallel, not stacked). It's tried, true, and the safer way to go. I'm not going to down stacking batteries, but if you can afford it I would just assume spring for a nice single battery VV mod as you can adjust the voltage instead of get stuck with 6 volts.

I own two Roughstacks, and been using them for a year now. I stack lifepo4's for 6v, and stack 2 AW IC batteries for 7v. NEVER have my batteries have gotten hot on me. I love HV with duals.

I agree...nothing beats a 1.5ohm dual coil carto at 6V. Not many high end devices can do that. Provari will throw an error code and the VMax will blow the switch. Maxi Roughstack...vaping heaven and doesn't break the bank. I own only 2 VV devices that can safely run a 1.5ohm dcc at 6V, both built by KrimsonKustoms. James specifically built these to do what I wanted.

At the OP....As far as to say that there is little difference between HV vaping and 3.7V with low resistance is like trying to say that heaven holds hell's hand...not going to happen...and there is a very noticeable difference with the right setup.

YES YES YES!! 6v and a 1.5ohm dual is incredible nic delivery at it's finest!!
I just bought 2 sets of AW IC 14500 batteries, and now I use 1.5 duals on my MV VV box mod.. It's fantastic!!
