Maxi Roughstack tips?

I just got my replacement roughstack, and I was able to attach a cartomizer to it. I got 2 good solid vapes, and then nothing. Took the carto off and put it on my 510, and it vaped fine. Attached another carto to the roughstack and the same thing happened. Got 2 good vapes and then it also quit. Put on an atty, and it is working so far, but haven't tried much more than a couple of vapes off of it.

Any iodea of what is going on? I tried 2 different charged batteries.

Just a followup. I found that the spring was leaning to one side at the bottom, so I fixed it by squeezing the base a little. Now most cartos work continuously. i do have one carto that does not work on the Roughstack, but does work on the 510. It is from the same batch as others that do work on the roughstack, so I am a little stumped.

OK, another followup, and an observation. I have found that one of my attys does not work with it, although the other one I had works fine. Both are the same model, bought at the same time. Weird, if you ask me.

Now the observation. It seems anything I vape with the roughstack has a subdued flavor. Atomic Cinnacide is not as strong as on my 510. It's not bad, but there is definately a difference. I am vaping at 3.7 volts. Someday I'll take it to 7.4 and then see what happens.

This sounds like a continuity problem to me.

Try cleaning the positive battery post in the roughstack. Clean the threads on the top and bottom. Do you have Noalox for the threads? That makes quite a difference in how a mod hits.

If none of those things work, you could try and pull the center contact out just a hair on the atty or carto. Same for the atty connector in the roughstack.

Finally, since it appears as tho you like carto's, I recommend 6v if you vape tobacco flavors. 2 second hits with huge plumes of vapor and it doesn't taste burnt.

Thanks for the reply! I have never heard of Noalox. I'll have to look into that. Currently I am using the Roughstack with an atty, and a vapemate. With the atty that works, I love this combo. I mainly will use cartos when i am away from home on my 510's.
