Well we have had a blizzard here so nothing is going anywhere and I can't get any 27,28 or any kanthal till next week I would guess. :( That will give me time to check out some good the other tank systems. I have no experience with tank systems, all of mine are drippers. And most of them (I only have a few,, maybe 6 ) have 3 posts for dual coil.
On the plus side, I have my drill bits ready to wrap wire on them! :) Now if I get as break in the weather I can do something. That is the most frustrating thing about vaping u have to order order and wait, order and wait.......

I used to make chainmaille jewelery, so did a lot of coil wrapping (on a dremel). You have to anneal the wire well to get it soft enough to coil properly. While I use a lighter now for microcoils, I do have an old torch (one you would use to torch creme brulee in the kitchen) that I used to use to anneal the silver. It may be you're not getting enough heat from the lighter?

I am trying to do these today, and I am have trouble getting the coil to stay together, its really springy? I have tried the tweezer torch method and it still won't stay. I am going to try wrapping again and I will pay more attention to how choose they are

After seeing this post, I've defiantly been playing around with some Maxi-Coils of my own :) They work well in my Nimbus RBA, and I'm anxious to try them out in my Kayfun Clone. I've Noticed that Captain Blackbird has some interesting ideas posted on his google plus account that I'm edger to try out, like packing the Kayfun like a cartomizer! Let's see how it goes :)

The cartostyle (wich the YT-Reviewer RipTripper later calls "chimney wick" *facepalm* - so annoying) is not so effective and less tasty.
But easier to change wool.

Tried different settings and got best results if you let some space between the wraps (more less then a razorblade).

Important is the Wick must be the diameter of the screw - so put a driller in the hole with perfect match and then wrap direct on it.
Because you fix the beginning of the wire with the screw it will easy to make.
Let the wire lay directly on the connectorblock then wrab with little space one after one.

If you use too thick wire you get another problem - the height!
Then there is not much space left that the steam and taste kan grow up and vaping is more hot because of the direct airstream throug a closed channel.

@Captain Blackbird, I'd have to agree. I did this last yesterday/last night and was met with average results. It was JUST LIKE using a cartomizer... which I don't really prefer :? I guess I should have expected those results, but it does make the wick WAY EASIER to change out.

At least I got the experience eh!? :)

Yes, sure to try some different settings...

Try the Dual-Maxicoil for your Drippers.
The trick is to get one mechanical stabilized Wick in which 2 coils heart each other up.
And you don't need 2 airholes.
Also you could make even a quad coil setting in 2 airhole atomizers with less space in it.

I always try to find new ways to build simple but effective wicks for optimal performance without wasting energy...

German way of engeneering things ;)

Is this how I am supposed to wrap these?

Is that how you mean when you say not to cut the wire?
