So after 3 months I maybe done with halo hardware...
leaking tanks/tips, tips that break way to easy and tanks that leak through the coil post down into the battery, I might be done with then. And I have several tanks that just simply allow too much air flow so you never get a good hit unless you plug one of the intake holes with your finger. So.. Poor build consistency too.

they are decent enough but leaking through the coil post into the battery is all I can take.
Today on lunch my tongue got splashed with juice (which means it was leaking out the top),,,yucky... and for some reason then the thing started leaking into the battery via the coil. Which makes two batteries that I expect to die fairly soon. One 650 and one 1300mah. And halo charges a mint for their batteries.
plus their tanks are a dead style... vGo, which Kanger quit using long ago.
so yup,,, expensive, leaky AND proprietary...

so I am ready to look at other options that would be easier to deal with (cheaper parts and more readily available, less leaky would sure be nice) but to be real honest I am so friggin confused by all the parts and pieces and mfg's out there, I am literally scared to buy something.

is there someone here who swears by their batteries and tanks who would share with me what you use, by make and model, so I can see exactly what I should be possibly buying?

Btw, I like tanks that I can fill not drip tips or cartomizers.

thanks up front for any help I receive!

I started with the Halo triton and although im thankful it got me off of cigs, i wanted something of better quality and they are expensive.
I recently got an Mvp2 from 101 vape for 39.99, thats like 10 bucks more than one of those Halo triton VV. I love it and i fully recommend it personally. It comes with an Iclear 30 wich is not bad either. I mainly use Protanks but so far the iclear 30 has been nice to me.
Oh heres a link to it in case your wondering
Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape
Also just an FYI, if you did get this it comes with everything you need to vape, the charger , tank and mvp.

I will second this.... MVP 2 and PT 2's are a match made in heaven. Give them a shot.

I love my Smok woo using Smok dual coil carto tanks. 5.0 volt regulated MOD produces a hot full vape, and they only spit a tiny bit when you prime a new carto.

Started with the E-go C and I ended up where you are at. Broke too many and they leaked all the time with Kanger hardware...

I just got an MVP2 as well and I am loving it! IMO you won't go wrong with one of those. However if your looking for an ego style set, I absolutely love my Kanger EVOD set. Been using it for for the past six weeks and it has been a great investment. I've only used one tank and 3 coils so far (still have the second tank unused) and it has never leaked even a drop! I got my kit for $35 from Vapedojo. It sounds like you would probably be happier with a more advanced setup though. Maybe a couple of 1300 spinner/twist batteries and EVOD tanks? I can't say enough good things about the EVOD tanks (cheap, look good, simple and unlikely to leak).

The MVP is the bigger battery style I was looking for but maybe I am missing something, cuz I haven't started researching but are these the tanks with 10 different parts?.. I mean if all you really do is replace the coil/wick.. Ok that's fine, I just didn't want a system that took an engineer to take apart and clean.
And which tanks/wicks/coils work? This is the state of confusion I get into when I look at this stuff.

Not being lazy just don't want to buy the incorrect things

P.s.

I wish more companies would simply list "accessories" when they sell these complete kits so we knew what to buy

IKanger E-VOD Starter kit, Kanger EVOD clearomizer, Kanger eVod Cartomizer don't think you can go wrong with this Kanger evod starter kit. The nice thing about the replacement coils is that they are universal Kanger coils and they also fit pro tanks and uni tanks and others I have seen that aren't Kangers tho I can't remember any names right now.

I have caused my tanks to leak on several occasions and my batteries are still going strong. This is a great price, too.

EVOD tanks are wicked simple. Only three pieces, a tank (the top part), a base and a coil. The base and the coil stay screwed together unless you want to change the coil. Watch some youtube videos about the EVOD and how to refill it.

IMO there are only two very small negatives to an EVOD tank, the small window to see how much juice there is and the clear non-removable drip tip that shows condensation. Neither bother me in the least and is far out weighed by the tough simplicity, flavor and vapor production! Also the replacement coils are between $5 and $8 for a five pack (you get seven coils with the starter kit!) I should also note that my first two coils are still good just gunked up with the juice I was vaping. If I take a minute and clean them they will be good as new.

I would agree that this is an awesome setup, but here is a link that can save you about $10 on the same kit.

http://http://www.vapedojo.com/collections/starter-kits/products/kanger-evod-starter-kit

And for a little more, here is a kit with Protank II minis!

Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV

Personally I would recommend the kit with the Protank II minis, but that is because I like the flavor of my juices in them. Both kits are awesome, and you won't go wrong with either one.

If you are looking for something a bit more advanced, there are a TON of options out there, but I would recommend the Innokin iTaste VV v3 for a starter "mod". It may take a little getting used to because it is a square battery (not a "box" mod like the MVP). Here is a link to the best price I've found yet on it.

ITaste VV v3.0 by Innokin

You have probably noticed by now that all these links go to Vape Dojo. I am NOT an employee, nor do I have a vested interest in this. I recommend them because they are fantastic for most prices, and they take care of their customers. It is an hour and a half drive for me to get to their B&M, but I do it as often as I can because they rock, even though it would be easier for me to order from them online! I have had a couple of minor issues with stuff I bought there, and they went out of their way to make things right, even when they didn't have to. I can't say enough about them.

Hope this helps!

I was looking at the V3 but price along with, what I perceive to be, large size kinda turned me off a little.
going to try the V2 and see how I like the product and company

i don't care for the $20 pro tank 2's though, wow that's pricey. But if it lasts a long time and I don't have to buy wicks/coils then.. What the heck.

i am kind of tired of the top coil hardware and the halo batteries, to me, don't last very long.
the minute they drop below 4v the vapor and flavor really really drops off.. That's with 2.2-2.4ohm coils.

I've tried many many different types of vaping equipment, and honestly, every one has leaking issues as you describe to some extent. The trick is to find the right liquid consistency for the gear you are using, and the right amount of sucking power to prevent sucking liquid up into the mouthpiece. Granted, some devices are better than others, but every device I have right now - an iclear30, vivi nova, mini vivi nova, X2 clearo, mini tanks (from Halo), Smoktech carto tanks, cartos, Evod, eroll gear, CE4 - all leak to some extent.

SOME leaking can happen but it's not normal and shouldn't be happening. To accept it is to accept a substandard product.
These things shouldn't leak. It's dangerous,, batteries... Could cause stains and smelly cloth depending on where you put it, coat pocket, pants pocket etc... On and on.

The halo doesn't always leak dont get me wrong but when it leaks it does so every single time directly into and onto the battery connection to the tank and that causes poor voltage, poor air flow, and can kill a battery by gumming up the connections, if it doesn't flat out short the thing from the liquid leaking down inside the battery tube.
Plus you can't take the halo battery tube apart without breaking it, so you are screwed

Plus once they leak out the bottom your done. You need to throw away or rebottle all the juice and take it apart and clean it.
Plus leaking out the top and splashing liquid in your mouth. (Which is a yucky taste, not dangerous per say )

Gravity keeps it in there most of the time but I am simply tired of them leaking.

Right, the T2 tanks that Halo sells shouldn't leak. And for me, they never have leaked. If they are leaking for you, then either you got defective equipment or there's something wrong with the way you use it.

But for what it's worth, in my experience T2s are about as easy-to-use as I could imagine. I throw them in pockets, leave them hanging every which way, keep/vape them at low liquid levels, overfill them on occasion, drop 'em, you name it. Heck, I even had one mouthpiece fly off the threaded cap when I dropped the Triton on a tile floor and the tank never leaked. After I popped the mouthpiece back in place, it worked good as new.

The one thing I do that maybe isn't typical is that I clean my tanks (soak them in vodka) after every 2-3 tankfuls of juice. That might help to explain why my wicks (apparently) work so well, and why the heads last so long for me, but honestly my treatment of the Triton on the whole is pretty casual and rough.

I also can't honestly say that my experience with iClear30s is any better. My experience with the Protank 2 is worse, but that's mostly a matter of taste. Your mileage may vary.

All of that said, the iTaste MVP is awesome; can't recommend that highly enough to anyone looking to upgrade from an eGo-style setup.

These are the batteries and tanks I own:

b806eb52-0eeb-419b-8141-869793663da6.jpg

Kanger EVOD's and EVOD tanks.. the shortest ones on the right and left. These were very easy to maintain. Batteries were only 650mah so they died quickly with constant vaping. The EVOD tanks are only 2 pieces (3 if you count the coil) Very easy to maintain. Unscrew the base, fill with any dripper bottle (but not above the center air post) screw on the coil to the base and attach to the tank. Cleaning is simple. Rinse out all pieces with water, the coil you can soak in alcohol then rinse and dry. Replace back onto your base of tank and attach back to the tank. Easy. They do have some leaks and gurgles, but this is usually due to getting liquid into the air post which you can just clean or blow out. Trouble with the EVOD tanks is that they are made with plastic so you can't vape any juice in them. Oh and the batteries are not variable voltage and fire at 3.7 volts. So the way to adjust your vape experience is to use different ohm coils. 1.8 ohms, I find gives a nice flavor, 2.5 ohms I think helps the battery last longer. But since vaping is a personal experience, you just have to try the different ohm coils to find the one you like. Oh and the EVOD battery has 510/Ego threads. The EVOD tank has the Ego threading.

The next line in is the Vision Spinners 1300 mah with Kanger Mini Protanks 2, w/ removable drip tips. These batteries last a lot longer than the EVOD 650 mah. They are also Variable Voltage batteries in which you can adjust the voltage output of your device which in turns helps you dial into your flavor. They are larger than the EVOD 650 mah battery but not terribly. The tanks are Kanger Mini Protanks 2. They take the same coils as the EVOD tanks so the nice thing is the coils are interchangeable, you don't have a lot of different coils for different tanks. They work together. So they have the same ohms (1.8, 2.2 & 2.5) you can use. The difference I have found is with 1.8 ohms you can't turn your voltage up very high before getting burnt tastes in your vape where as the other two resistances allow you to crank up your voltages for maximum flavoring. The Vision Spinner batteries also have 510/Ego threading that will fit most tanks on the market.

The tanks themselves take a little bit more understanding but are basically the same as the EVOD. The base you will screw in your coil and attach to your tank. You fill the liquid in the same as you do the EVOD tanks. But cleaning is actually easier if you disassemble the tanks. They come in four parts. The drip tip, the glass tube and the top and lower connector. It all screws together with rubber rings to prevent leaking of the tank. Always tighten these tanks till they are snug and finger tight any tighter and you can break the glass tank. The trade off is being able to vape any juice you like. Tank Crackers will not destroy these tanks like it can plastic tanks. They are actually very easy to understand and these are my personal favorite tanks. I like the removable drip tips because I like to individualize my tanks and having color coordinated tips helps me remember what flavors are in what tanks. Yep, I like to flavor swap throughout the day. The reason why I have many tanks. the Kanger Mini Protank 2 also is and Ego threading like the EVOD tanks.

The next batteries inwards are the Innokin Itaste vv V3 with again Mini Protank 2's topping them. These are Variable Voltage and Variable Wattage with an ohm checker built into the batteries. They are 800 mah batteries so they last longer than the 650 mahs. What I really like about these batteries is the smooth vape they produce. I also like that I can set the voltage or wattage and they won't accidentally change on me. Another nice thing that I grew to like was that the battery is square therefor it doesn't roll off the table. With the Mini protanks on it, you can see it is just a smidge shorter than the vision spinner with the same tank on it. In my opinion this is a great battery to get if you don't a box mod but want a vape that is similar to the larger mods. I don't think I need to talk about the mini protank again do I? :D

The battery that is in the middle is the Innokin Itaste MVP2 with a 901/510 adapters, 901 atomizer with a drip shield and drip tip. You said you didn't want want to drip therefore I will ignore that and talk about the battery. Personally, I LOVE THIS BATTERY! It's my favorite. It has all the same features as the Innokin VV V3 as I discussed above with additional features. It has 2400 or 2600 mah battery.. can't remember the exact number but I only have to charge this every 2-3 days and the battery isn't even fully drained. It also can charge your cell phone if you suddenly find yourself in need of charging it, which I haven't used. This battery gives an amazing vape experience, very smooth. I've read it is actually fairly comparable with that vaulted Provari. Regardless, I love it.

Oh and the little ecig alike laying in the front that's my Halo G6. Yep started there and ended up with this collection.

Hopefully my experience helps you figure out what you want, with what I have experienced. I will say this. If you like the warmer vape then you might want to stick with the top coil tanks. The Protanks all will give a cooler vape experience and perhaps a more airy draw. Regardless, all of the batteries mentioned above.. except the Halo G6 can handle most tanks that are on the market today.

Happy vaping!

I got one of the MVP 2's with the i30 tanks......switched them out with my PT2's. Just don't enjoy the top coils. MVP is great! Charge lasts me over 2 days, easy function buttons, no complaints.
Have a SID and eVic, 2nd/3rd preference in that order. Waiting on a Smoktech Magneto V2, just to check it out.....
