Me and my Reo... true love.

My wife gave me this as a birthday present 3 days ago and I'm hooked. For the past year I've used my provari mini faithfully every single day and no other mod I purchased managed to take it's place until this. I can't believe I waited so long to try a bottom feeder.

I've been a running a couple reomizers, one with xc-116 and the other with silica, both at 1.2ohm and am just amazed that a mechanical mod has finally gotten me hooked.

I just went with the tumbled raw aluminum, the spartan look of it just appeals to me.
Anyway, it was a long night at work. Just wanted to slide in with a thumbs up for this mod. I finally understand what all the fuss is about. I do gig it on a couple negative points but really, it's minor complaints like the button that migrates to lock, a firing pin that
thrives on noalox, slight rattle on the door bottom. I feel like I'm nitpicking because this is a great mod imo and I'm quite pleased so far.

You can get a button top and might find that is easier to use. It becomes a habit to turn it slightly with the side of your thumb before pushing it down. You could just remove the little metal post that locks it, but only if you don't mind loosing that feature. I really don't even notice anymore the turn and fire!

A little electrical tape around your battery should snug up the door.

Make sure you are not pushing down on the button to hard. Lots of people are button mashers! Test this: Hold it up to your ear and slightly push the button. When you hear it fire you will know you need not push harder!

I removed the pin but as Karen said you can use the big button and roll it.
On my REOs I put the door on a table edge and slightly bend it just enough so there's a little resistance when it's closed "it doesn't take much", I've done 3 like this and no rattles and the door can be moved 1/2 open and doesn't free fall to the floor.
I hate to admit it here but only used the nolox about once a month on my Grand .

Welcome and congrats! Your Reo looks like something James Bond would carry along side the Walther as a multi purpose vape/weapon device. It's quite handsome. Das' a cute pig.

I don't even put noalox on grands. Never had a misfire or power drop either, but I have a giant container of the stuff in the event I do need it. I keep mine spotless inside and out though. Yep, I'm a freak like that.

To believe it was the Red Vaper (commie) who suggested sliding an oring over the brass milling on the RM2 to cover the part that shows - I believe that I see it in chohan's picture

I have a raw grand too and the finish is less robust than my powder coated black grand, but i have mitigated this by keeping it in a lovely little cover Nerak makes and gives out!

I'd be tempted to apply some clear varnish to it, but it'd be my luck to mess it up - have a fly stick to it or somesuch.

I Noalox my mechanical Reos about once a month when i clean them all, with the exception of my black workhorse and that gets cleaned and filed and drowned in the stuff about once every 2 weeks or whenever the firing pin and battery start to spark.

Thanks Nerak. I've already taken advantage of these tips. Since I hold and press the fire button with my index finger, I slipped the plunger end from a syringe over the button. This lets me roll toward fire position before taking a drag. It's already become second nature. Also placed a skinny piece of tape along lower edge of the frame under the door so no more rattle.

Well mine was working great for two days but then at work last night I was noticing the vapor fell way off on a fresh battery and then sometimes it wouldn't fire at all. I kept playing around with the cover off, turning the battery, etc. and noticed sparks between pin and battery. That's when I started researching ecf on my cell and found the tip on noalox. Mine didn't have any at all on it but I noticed there was a small dab that came with my order so as soon as I got home I dabbed just a bit on the point of the pin and haven't had anymore problems.

I share your freakiness on the clean factor.

Btw, thanks for the reomizer tutorial... that came in very handy. I'm still amazed at what a great vape I'm getting with this bottom feeding mech setup.
