When I first started vaping, I made several mods. Mostly copper tube mechs. Then I got an LT then later a Vamo. I stripped the connector threads in my vamo and decided to pull out one of my old coppers and try low Ω vaping. Back when I used my homemade mods I didn't have rebuildables, only cartos and tanks which I got better performance with a VV mod. So, anyway, I rebuilt a protank and rsst to be a little under 1Ω and HOLY CRAP! :vapor: Now, I finally understand what all you mech people have been preaching. Low Ω and mechs will blow your freakin' head off. I had started working on fixing the vamo but had to put it away for now...went to the hardware store and got some supplies to a new mech instead. Not sure if I'll ever buy another VV mod....

Depends which VV device.. My ProVari 2.5 is running a Hercules dual-coil @ 1.0 ohm just great at a regulated 3.7v until the battery is spent.. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I have and use mechs too.. Just not sub-ohm. I like to keep at 1.0 and above no matter which device I'm using.. :) I do enjoy running without v-drop also though . I had a Sigelei Z-Max which wouldn't even run a single coil @ 1.3 ohms at all...

Ive tried rebuilding pro tanks and evods and all that happens is the wire burns the rubber insert and i get a lung full of burnt rubber.... mmmmmm.. Gonna use NR-R-NR next time I bother, which might be never lol.

Anyways, I'm currently running .5 ohm dual 28g micro coils in my Nimbus and it is indeed good times.

Once I started messing with sub ohm and mech mods, I don't think I'm going back to vv either. Love that rsst, using a ss cable wire,28 guage kanthal at .7-.9 ohm and I'm loving it:)

There is however something to be said for wrapping a great 1.8 ohm 28g micro coil and using it on my Provari in an RDA. Regulated mods have their place with me for sure and always will. There's something nice about not worrying about battery voltage constantly and just vaping till it doesn't fire anymore.

Dang... .5? That is strong. At .8 I can only hit it for a couple seconds.

I discovered the same a few months ago with a 0.7 ohm setup on a AGA-T and a K100.

WOW.

Got a Vmod bottom feeder a little while back and looking forward to exploring micro coils with it. That might just bring me back to regulated mods. Maybe. But it's gotta be good! And I mean really good

Absolute performance in the area of cloud production IMO is all a question of watts. You can do similar things at similar wattages regardless of what resistances and voltages you use to get there. You just have to build accordingly.

For example I have a VW mod capable of firing subohm but I'm finding that high ohm setups run at high watts produce better results. So I actually don't even use the subohm capability that much ... there's no inherent point to it with regulated power.
