mech mod battery help

Hi there,
I was lucky enough to get on a Sigelei #20 pre-order that should arrive to me in the next couple of days. After much searching and reading, i'm still a bit confused on what type of battery to use. currenty, i'm vaping on a Vamo using panasonic cgr18650ch. these are unprotected, high drain batteries. My question is, are these batteries safe to use in the #20? if not any recommendations? also, any recommendations on 18350's that are suitable for this mod. this is my first mech i would, very much, like to avoid explosions.

TIA

IMR batteries are safe unprotected batteries. The drawback of using protected is usually they have a pretty low amperage cutoff, so it defeats the purpose of the mech.

My panasonics are unprotected high drain batts. assuming i do my math correctly and build proper coils, would this battery be safe to use in the #20?

I also want to leg in on this to save thread space, as it's mech/batt related.
If I go low with those up-start Panasonic's that are gaining attention for nice amp's, will the short stop I plan to use let me go low ohm high amp?

Does it only kick in with a fast, hard short? Or will any draw over it's trip-point activate it?

These questions probably couldn't get any more serious as I plan to go around .4/.5 ohm and NCR isn't the safest.

Thanks!

Bump.
Don't want to waste money on an SS and have my high amps constantly tripping it. I'm going to be in constant .4/.5/.6/.7 ohm territory.

My understanding is that a Short Stop is simply a 7amp switch. Im too lazy to do the math (havent slept in 20 hours) so you can do it yourself. If the draw is higher than 7amp, it will trip.
