today I bought me a mech mod but it seems like its always firing its the same one the guy at my local store has and his works great.

I don't know what kind it is it doesn't say anything on it I do know I also bought a nimbus rba with it though.

the button on the device it self fell off on the way home I had it put back together when I got home and then tried it but I can take a dry hit on it and im still getting vapor but I don't hear the firing sound.

also the button gets really hot im not sure if im putting in the battery wrong or not so if any one has any tips on what may be going on please fill me in

My opinion: take it right back to the store and get some proper instructions from the store clerk. It is highly irresponsible for a B&M to sell something without ensuring the user knows how you use it properly and safely. If the store clerk can't help, ask for a refund and go somewhere else that has knowledgeable employees.

Your device is not working properly. The button, the mod, or the battery should not get hot. This is a warning that something is not working right, and could prove to be dangerous should you continue to try to use it. Return it to where you purchased it, and do not use it again until you are certain it is working properly to your satisfaction.

You need to know more about your particular mod that you use. The name brand or whether it is a generic or clone of a name brand.

What specifically is the battery that you are using? Mechanical mods have no built-in protection like a regulated or variable voltage mod will have. You need to be using a Vape Safe Mod Fuse if using a Li Ion battery, whether it is protected or un-protected (not recommended by the way).

IMR (safe chemistry/high drain) batteries are currently recommended over Li Ion batteries because they are inherently safer than Li Ions. The are also recommended if using a RBA like you have in the Nimbus. Depending upon what resistance the coils are, you may need a specific IMR battery (see links below). You will need to have and know how to use a digital multimeter to know the resistance of the coils.

Advice & Tips for New RBA Users

I suggest reviewing the following guide on batteries for mods to learn more about the different chemistries they use, and which are recommended for your device:

The protection circuit is designed to protect the battery from a hard short, but does not necessarily protect from stressing the battery. That protection circuit can also fail creating a very dangerous situation. Aside from that, value no-name batteries are unknown batteries of unknown quality made by an unknown manufacturer, and not worth the risk using in your mod. I understand the need to keep within a budget, but the $$ saved is not worth the risk you take using no name batteries, protected or not. Just my opinion, and I am not usually a safety 'Nazi', but please understand that the safety of all vapers must be our highest priority.

this is also the battery i plan to get

AW IMR 18650 High Drain 2000mAh Li-Ion Battery [AWIMR18650-2000] - $14.99 :

is this a good one?
Many, and myself included, believe that is the best and safest battery you can use. It is the battery most often recommended by mod manufacturers and battery experts. Good choice. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

However, I believe you can find them cheaper. AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh $11.27

*Current wisdom is that IMR batteries (safe chemistry) like the AW IMR are preferred over protected Li Ion batteries as a safer alternative for mechanical and regulated mods.
