After being blessed with freedom from analogs for over six months, I've decided to call my "units" medicinal vaporizers.
To my way of thinking ( and, granted, it's usually a little scewed) the word " cigarette", even being prefaced by the word " electronic", to any nonsmoker or former ( and sometimes "reformed") seems to make them think that I'm still "smoking".
And I truly feel and believe that I'm vaping medicine, that's literally savingmy health and extending my life and causing no harm, first or second hand ,to anyone else.

I prefer 'recreational vaporizer'. I'm not comfortable going anywhere near the FDA's medicine/drug crap.

And I smoked cigarettes for over 45 years as a recreation and have replaced those with vapping now for 11 months and it is still for my personal recreation.

"recreational vaporizer" instantly makes me think of " recreational drugs" I guess we can't get away from any derogetory(sp) label!

I honestly feel that it is having a medicinal affect on me. After two weeks of vaping (no analogs), I am able to take deep breaths and am no longer coughing. I no longer wheeze either. I had surgery a year ago and had complications which left me with a slight wheeze. I never had asthma, but developed the wheeze right after the surgery. This has stopped since I started vaping. I think we will find out eventually that the vaping actually helps clear up chest and breathing problems. It has for me.

I think this has already been proven, seeing as how analogs are the cause of chest and breathing problems. I'm not necessarily saying that e-cigs a cure for already existing conditions, but the absence of tar and who knows what other chemicals won't cause any harm to a person's lungs.

I say use whatever term you want for e-cigs as long as it convinces whoever you're discussing it with that it's a safe alternative to analogs. I just call it an "e-cig". Boring, I know, but I do a good job persuading people that it does no harm to the body.

That's not your pv being medicinal. It's your bodies natural reaction to quitting smoking ie. more phlem and mucus production and wheezing more at first, then you can breathe! It's a freaking miracle.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I see this failing quickly.

First thing that popped into my head when I read this was "Oh, he found a way to use ......... with the e-cig"..when I read the word "medicinal" I automatically associate it with "medicinal ........." and I know I'm not alone on that one. I really don't see how "medicinal" even relates to nicotine either, what's "medicinal" about it?

In my humblest opinion, you're going to run into more issues calling it a "medicinal vaporizer" than calling it an "electronic cigarette" or "personal vaporizer." On top of that, the more I use this thing, the more I hear from people who know what they are and are interested in knowing how it works and how I feel about it. No need to confuse them further about it's purpose, or give anyone who is against them any ammunition to hate them more.

Well said Ajaxus. If we are going to root for Judge Leon's tobacco ruling to stand, then we need to quit giving the FDA ammo by calling them something that could be equated with their claimed drug device catagory. What happens if our words are taken straight back to the court of appeals?

I do agree with you and realize that I didn't think my earlier post out very well. We don't need to confuse people. I've had nothing but positive reactions from everyone I've told about my e-cig. They all think it wonderful that I haven't had a "regular" cigarette in over two weeks. No need to confuse the issue. The "e-cig" works and anyone who has ever quit smoking understands that this has to be something good.
