My son was a Jazz musician all through high school. He is state ranked and this past December his jazz band was selected to travel to Chicago to play at something called the Midwest Clinic. It's a really big deal and attended by college scouts from all over the country. In March, the band did a Spring concert version of their performance, and I was able to get my mother to come. After the concert, we all went to eat a a little local Mexican place. My mother agreed to go with us, which was very unusual. After dinner she pulled out her ego and tearfully told the family how she had stopped smoking and was vaping because she wanted to live to see my son's children. It was incredibly emotional. I could relate. I'm not getting any younger, and I was starting to have some smoking related health issues too.
We talked a few days later, and that's when Mom told me she had started doing this to maybe cut down on smoking, and hadn't intended to quit, but had not had a cigarette in a couple of months. Now, I'm one of those people who can't ever remember a time when mom didn't have a ciggie in her hand. Like mother, like daughter, because I started smoking at 16 and never had an empty hand for over 30 years. I thought maybe I should check this out for myself. That's when I started lurking on ECF a little. I ordered an ego. The day after I got it, I got back on line to try and get answers to some questions that I had. That's when I saw the adds for 808's and thought I might like those better. I didn't want to buy anything else though. I tried so hard to make the ego work for me. I ordered a tank for it, juices like crazy... i tried and tried. One day I saw one of the banner adds was for smokeless image. At the time, they weren't on the vendor list, but I didn't know that. I clicked on the banner, and ordered a starter kit. That was April 29. Over the couple of days it took for it to come in, I kept trying the ego. It was what all the veterans on ecf told me you had to have if you wanted to be a "real vaper". Buttons and tail pipes aren't for me. I felt stupid using it. My son thought it was hysterical and not in a good way either.
When my volt came in, it was love at first sight. The little purple light at the end was so cute. I could hold it like a ciggie, and puff on it and it would draw just right. I had ordered two boxes of carts. Grape and menthol. I went through those pretty quickly. At the end of about a week, I had not smoked any analogs, but I realized that this wasn't going to work either because I couldn't afford $20 in carts every week. That was just as bad as smoking, but now cigarettes tasted really horrid. Great, I thought. now what? . I happened to mention how much I loved the volt to my mother, and she was going to order one also, since I liked it so much. She was shocked that I had ordered from anyone who wasn't on the vendor list, but I told her it would be ok. Mom was able to do the research for me to show me how to refill the carts.
I pull out the ego when I want to drip new juices to taste rather than fill a whole cart with something I might not like, other than that, it sits and gathers dust. I've realized that you don't have to have a tailpipe to be a real vapor. You only have to do what is right for yo. SI's Grape is my go to, all day flavor, but I also keep carts filled with blueberry and orange. I'm so glad that the VOLT came into my life, because without it i would still be struggling, and definitely still smoking. Actually, I probably would have just given up. I get tons more done at work because I'm not constantly going outside to smoke. I have a new found freedom.
Thanks to SI for giving me my life back. I will probably get to see my grandchildren grow up now. That's pretty powerful.
